That sportage looks very smart. Shame they don't do an EV version yet!

Finally got this beast a fortnight or so ago - Kia Niro EV 4 - 64Kw battery with a 150kw(200BHP) motor. It goes very nicely.

Similar issues to you regarding towbar, it's arrived without it, and I'm trying to find out what is going on! Gotta take it in for a software update anyway, it decided it didn't want to drive on Friday and I had to get picked up - standard software bug if you interrupt pre-heating mode, which of course you enable because you need to go somewhere quick and don't want to wait for it to clear!

I’m surprised they offer a towbar on an electric car - will be interesting how that affects the range.

new out the box I assume ? .... bet that is quick with 200donkeys on tap ..... am pleased with the Sportage, thus far ... they have a long face when you mention tow bar .. fitter reckoned he had to take most of the back end off to fit it :unsure:o_O:oops:
reckon it's doing circa 36MPG ATM, fill to fill, but gonna do 1000 miles in it and average it out over that .... only do a hybrid Sportage ATM, as you say -- mine's pure motion lotion of the highly volatile variety :giggle: ... it goes well (y)
what's your tow capacity ? 1650kg on mine

Yep, it is stupid quick - but electronic limited to 110 :(

Trundling at a economical 70 I'm getting about 3.5mi/kwh out of it. I'm trying to tune my driving to get closer to 4mi/kwh to maximise my range. That said, I can charge for free at work at about 11kw, on a DC charger I am getting ~45kw (highest so far was 64kw) and it's rated upto 77kw but I think that needs a number of things - a) a 150kw charger (on a 50kw I get 45kw) b) battery to be in a pre-conditioned state which you get by booking the charger in the onboard nav and it will pre-condition when you are about 20mi away and c) warmer overall temperatures.

Leccy is the future in my mind, the torque and speed is incredible. Just need more kwh in the battery for a better range.

This one is a company car so I will have it for 3 years and then get the next gen, though if something better comes up I may poke them to let me change sooner (i.e. if someone new joins I can persuade them to swap the cars!)

until I can have a min. 500 mile range and tow 3.5t with it, leccy'll be off the menu in this neck of the woods. ;)

Thing is, can you drive 500 miles on your bladder? Realistically, an hour or two and you need to stop to both drain the tanks and fill the others. Half an hour or so on the charger and I've gained ~150+ miles. Enough to carry me to the next charging point!

Trip to Austria from here is 960 miles and 2 tank stops

had an hour or three on the 'Drema's dash this morning .... touched up a few 'iffy'/dry looking solder joints on the one PCB I could get at .. plugged it back in and gave it 24v ... back in business :giggle: .. fully functional dash again and she fired up first flick, with everything operational (y):giggle: .... that's saved a lorra re-wiring :love: .... so can handle Vin's pallet, for shipping out to bonny Scortlan'
then turned my attentions to .........
WP_20230501_18_06_56_Pro.jpg

me 50 quid pillar drill, I acquired a few weeks back ..... ;)
stripped and almost all cleaned .... :)
several bits in need of freeing off ...
just got the base and column to strip and clean ....
columns going to meet the Harrison for a good polish up and need to make a replacement column lock for the table, as it's missing a half a split clamp :( which is annoying ..
but make-able (y)

these are what the new boots replaced .....
think I had my money's-worth from 'em
still comfy as, but letting in too much of the surroundings :ROFLMAO:
have had several pairs of these, over the years and were always great from day one
laces usually lasted a month, before getting melted and replaced with leather laces ..
hence they're missing ...
will need 'em for the new ones at some point in time.
must be 20 years old and have seen a few pairs of boots :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
