Founds for a small extension has proved tricky this week. It’s a tight area with a 2m high retaining wall close by. The drain run that we needed to move a manhole on turned out to be a combined sewer that we’ve renewed despite having supposedly been surveyed by the architect; so paperwork a plenty there. The main water feed for twenty odd houses runs through the found in 3/4” copper that I can’t isolate without Northumbrian Water’s assistance. And into the bargain there’s f###ing hard whinstone bedrock at shallow depth.
Could be worse though as the clients are very decent & hopefully the local building inspector will prove to be as pragmatic as usual on Monday.
It also seems the weather has been reasonably canny for January compared to many of you lot.
Finally signed off today with a shallower but thicker reinforced strip agreed. A good relationship with BC can be invaluable at times.
NW were worse than useless so eventually took the plunge & did it myself live. Easier said when it goes well but do wonder now what all my concern was for!
On a connected but different thread; would anyone have experience of a ripper tooth for a <1ton machine as I am wondering whether this would have been handy to have on my TB210r for this job or even if not up to this task in this instance, whether it would be a useful tool generally on this size of machine?
