No longer with us now and was real sound bloke but local family outfit that ran a few 8 wheelers one brother on local muckaway jobs used to let them fill wagon until it was running over and it was a bulk body. Wasn't uncommon to be near 30 ton on occasions they reckoned. The bit he didn't tell you was how many and how often he was changing springs at night ready for next day.
He once brought me a load of subbase that i wanted backed off the road over a kerb into site. I'd reduced dig behind kerb by close on 18 inch to allow for drop kerb later and still having plenty stone depth. He asked where i wanted it and i said tip half on top of kerb and I'll ramp it in behind for you to back in over. His reply was so you want it backed into the middle of the site then get digger out the way. I moved digger and he backed right in over kerb into middle of site tipped drove out and away. I've never seen/heard axles and springs bending creaking banging etc on a an 8 wheeler like it and don't want to!
Was that a Cambridge outfit? Nearly thirty years ago there was an outfit running several 8 wheel Hinos and one Leyland Constructor with a grain body. I was loading them away with rejected type one from the A14 dualling. The Hinos were taking fair loads, but the foreman driver in the Leyland kept getting me to put a bit more on him every time. Next time he came back, he told me to back off a bit as he’d gone over the weighbridge at 44 tonnes. The Hinos were averaging around 36 tonnes. Amazing what you could get away with on a Saturday.

We had local outfit, Park Royal would bring a load of stone for £100 cash and take a load for £100 so you’d try throw as much on. Once loaded one with wet slop when he came back said he’d been 38 tons on weighbridge and slid out like a sausage

Is the Kubota diesel have you got some more info pics location price? Got a job coming up I’ll need something smaller than my 1 ton Kubota tracked swivel dumper.
Off the top of my head, when you lower the engine cover they are near the hinge on either side, one bolt with nut either side, then you just pull/slide the engine out 3 or 4 inches.
How much is the Kubota up for?

I really like my slanetrac petrol, moved thousands of tons with it in the 18 months I've had it- on the job with the ramps alone I did 11 grab lorries of soil out with it, and an 8 wheeler of crushed and 20 tons of other materials back in.
I went for the petrol over the diesel for lower cost and peace of mind knowing how easy/cheap they are to replace 😅😅
Wouldn't be without it👍👍

Certainly looks cheap enough, so long as it's in working order you won't loose if you don't get on with it. Borrow it for a day and see how you go?
