Heard the horror stories, but since having mine new in 2017 it's needed one hose which was badly routed so rubbed on the frame, starter motor due to some idiot leaving the key in the start position, and needs an engine flywheel cover as the bolts rattled loose and three accelerator cables. It did have a valve block within the first few months as wasnt tracking right. Still on original tracks and a good 75% tread left, although do tend to put boards down at turn points Mostly to stop it digging down or marking but helps turning
Had the same issue with the hose rubbing on chassis (repaired under warranty)
now need a new starter for the same reason but quoted £702 + for a genuine one 😳
not taken the old one off yet as it’s busy on a job to get a oem number (unless you know where to source, kholer engine?)
I’ve got that htd5 (new 10/2020, £6k+ after hard bargaining) and have the kubota kc70 vhd-4 (2019) both great but will keep the Jcb as one sits in the yard collecting bird bath water 🙈

Do you not rate the Kubota?
I bought a copy starter from West lakes auto, was 135 ish although mine is a Lombardini engine but the Kohler looks identical. Rear bolt is a twat to get to, 1/4" with extensions and Flexi joint but it's awkward

The kubota is strong and a good machine but the Jcb is just better for me and how I use it, the kubota is up for sale but if it doesn’t sell then it can stay ready for action when needed
where are the bolts to get the engine forward? Spoke to a fitter and he said two bolts and that allows a few extra inches to get at it, think it will be an over Christmas job when I’ll be happy to be out the house playing with the toys no matter how much it pisses me off trying to fix it 😂

Off the top of my head, when you lower the engine cover they are near the hinge on either side, one bolt with nut either side, then you just pull/slide the engine out 3 or 4 inches.
How much is the Kubota up for?

His transit looks like it's had a hard life, seems to be overloaded constantly
Haha I copied same, he was boasting about his other truck lifting 7 tons and all over comments he was like I run overloaded all the time.

Mark Harris says he’s a half gypo known for it rd Norwich

Is the Kubota diesel have you got some more info pics location price? Got a job coming up I’ll need something smaller than my 1 ton Kubota tracked swivel dumper.

I tried picking up a 6.5t with hl5 hook gear on a 16t wagon and it wasn't having any of it so highly doubt he can do it with a van. Physically put 7 t on it maybe but can't see it picking it up unless there was something very wrong with the wagon I tried it with

No longer with us now and was real sound bloke but local family outfit that ran a few 8 wheelers one brother on local muckaway jobs used to let them fill wagon until it was running over and it was a bulk body. Wasn't uncommon to be near 30 ton on occasions they reckoned. The bit he didn't tell you was how many and how often he was changing springs at night ready for next day.
He once brought me a load of subbase that i wanted backed off the road over a kerb into site. I'd reduced dig behind kerb by close on 18 inch to allow for drop kerb later and still having plenty stone depth. He asked where i wanted it and i said tip half on top of kerb and I'll ramp it in behind for you to back in over. His reply was so you want it backed into the middle of the site then get digger out the way. I moved digger and he backed right in over kerb into middle of site tipped drove out and away. I've never seen/heard axles and springs bending creaking banging etc on a an 8 wheeler like it and don't want to!
