If you don't use other attachments much you might be able to plumb the pipes better by taking them straight from the thumb ram and up to where the aux connection is at the top of the dipper using much shorter lenghs of hose ... I had to do that on mine as it was a bit spaghetti like

I was thinking, a tee where the flexi joins the solid pipe at the top of the dipper, with another set of QR`s, or a valve.

was my thoughts too ... either a tee or a 3 x 1 diverter either side - can then just shut off the thumb and hang a breaker or whatever at the dipper end

Oh yeah they grip like f**k! In fact it's not overly good for the machine cos I alway end up beasting mine pretending it's an 8 tonner.

weight is under the arm rather than out under the hitch as with a proper grab.

It’s the reason I still run a grapple, particularly on the micro.

Somewhere around 300kg would be my reckoning. What type of stone have you bought?

Dunno - it’s big and heavy!
This is one piece.
Bobcat 2.7 would only lift it when rested on the blade with arm assist… (It made the blade hoses leak!)

Bit wider, but not much.
Don’t know, some sort of garden feature. I’ve also bought a load more lumps, but they aren’t uniform/dressed (and are probably a bit smaller, won’t know until I go and get them as everything apparently looks different until you try and pick it up! ).

To be fair the hose that leaked was one that I’d ripped off and subsequently replaced - it was an absolute nightmare as I thought it was BSP but wasn’t (long story short it died in the middle of an SSSI so I blanked it off with a BSP cap forced on to the knackered threads to stop it leaking and then ended up replacing it with the wrong hose 3 times)…..

Stone is a funny thing to put a price on because if it's fashioned it's sold by the feature rather than by the ton. Chap who sells me granite sells big boulders that I'd see only fit to stick in a Devon hedge yet folk with posh house and garden like them as garden features and the like.

Ah right. You can guarantee that if a hose is going to let go it'll be on a sssi!

I’d be interested in what a load (18-20 tonne) of random BIG stone would be worth though I guess?

£100- £130 ish is about what I pay for granite. Delivered. Not cheap but it's not quarried, rather gathered from excavation projects etc

Per tonne I’m guessing? Doesn’t sound bad value.
