Not that healthy, somewhere between 3k and 4k for first vehicle then I think it's around 1k for every extra.

I put off getting o license for far too long, best thing I ever did was bite the bullet
aye .... but that'd be classified as 'healthy' for a lotta folk ATM  :giggle:

8 Legger and Drag can be plated up to 44t.... moreso if STGO but you'd not bother for the price realistically a towing capacity of around 24t.
thought it was only artics that could go to the full 44t ??

Yes I’ve seen that a lot, but many use a 6 wheeler for that job, guessing for a bigger tow capacity?
An oddity with an 8 wheeler towing a trailer running at 44t is the trailer still needs 3 axles, (7 in total) due to wording of legislation. The same trailer will have the same capacity on both a 6 or 8 wheeler, the truck would need to be 19t or less for this (trailer 3x8t axle + 1t imposed+19t = 44t). A 6 wheeler (of the same type) will have more payload over the combination due to the lower tare.

If they are quoting 5k patio jobs and 10k driveway jobs they should have the funds.

Years ago I couldn't afford to do it but years ago I'd no need for anything more than my old hilux and me.

You need funds to run a job, you can't turn up day one and say I need money off you before you've done anything. It's all progression and the ones that do it right you can see, if they can't run with enough to maintain the lorry then you should not have one.

So a Triaxle trailer behind an 8 wheeler could have a 25t gross weight?
