so's just gonna be me and Pam off to one of our fave little spots to have some of the best grub around here ... take some plates and bring Vicki and Chris's back with us ... too good to miss.

Happy birthday Graham from way over here 
And although we all know how cold/wet/drizzly the UK is, we've gone one up in rainfall volume over here in Australia. In the first three months of this year we had our annual rainfall on the East Coast. It still kept raining and our precipitation now has to be measured in metres
A bit further up the coast from me they had a one in one thousand year flood back in Feb/March then as the water level fell and everyone was clearing up it rained again and they had a one in one hundred year flood
Thousands of buildings rendered uninhabitable and the likelihood some will never be rebuilt in their current location. Thousands of livestock washed away into the ocean along with everything else that would float. One of my kitesurf customers is selling up and moving thousands of km to the western side of Australia where it's dry and hot because the rain was so frequent and the ocean too filthy to surf in.
Thousands of km of roads are now a sequence of potholes as the constant rain caused the foundations to collapse. Some roads will be impassable for 6 months
Needless to say earthmoving or even placing heavy equipment on anything but concrete has been impossible. Mould is everywhere and mud everywhere else. Backlogged with lots of rural driveway repair to do when it does dry out. I'll be ordering hundreds of tonnes of roadbase if I can get an order in from the local quarry which has been flat out supplying material for guess what, road repairs.
According to long range forecasts we may have more wet weather along with our cooler time of the year for the next 3 months. So very slow drying.
And just two years ago it was so dry thousands of km of the east coast of Australia, including around here, burnt to a cinder with unprecedented bushfires.
Climate change is even worse than the most extreme predictions over here
Still, I wouldn't live anywhere else

... bet it's a bit drier and warmer there ... probably too warm most of the time .. 22/23c and shirt sleeves'd suit me for 10 months of the year, dipping to maybe 18C for the others Footer block 1
