I’ve got 5 on my volvo digger and 4 on a telehandler and they are great.but as mentioned the brackets and bolts rust rapidly.

I'll have a look at my brackets today ... see how they've fared the last two plus years :rolleyes:.... got a load more sat, for some side and rear illumination ;).... when I get around to fitting them :(

I'm going to replace the lights on the dipper of my 3CX with LED's, I'm also thinking about a couple on top of the jack legs. Would they all be ok on the same switch? Not really clued up on electrics.

No probs, the LED lights take a fraction of the Wattage of the old halogen bulbs.

as Mike says no prob.s .... Watts = volts x amps ..... so a 60 watt halogen consumes 5 amps at 12 volts .... those halogens I use are 16 LEDs x 3w each so 48watts per unit, so 4 amps each, at 12 volts;) ..... 2 amps at 24 volts :giggle::giggle:

So I should be fine replacing 2 at 55 watts with 4 at 27watts?

That's what I was thinking. Next question, what wattage LED's should I get? Was looking at 27W
not tried 27s .... but the 48s I've bought are like daylight Jimbo .... go back to post #8 in this thread for some more pix

this was in pitch dark .. like "the black hole of Calcutta" here when the light goes out :giggle:

It's actually not a big deal sticking in a rely and running out a couple of new wires for some extra brightness. A clever chap such as yourself would easy handle it. Or if you have a super sparkie in the family that is due you a favor then even better ;)

yeh, absolutely ... give the light switches an easier life all round .... wouldn't surprise me if they aren't already on relay-ed circuits ... How old is the machine Jmbo

2013 machine, think I'll stick to the 27 watt lights. I'll still have the 4 on top of the cab which can be replaced with LED's too if need be.

I think I'm due the super sparkie a few favours by now :eek:
