As mentioned, you can get a sprinter with 7000kg train, but usually factory ordered, one thing different is the diff ratio, so not so easy to get re-plated.

I approached mercedes about uprating the towing ability and their reply was they would not allow it. They would not tell you what parts were needed or sell you those parts. I couldn't find any after market people who would do it either.
Seems silly if they are capable, as it appears to only be upgrading the diff and the towbar, but I couldn't get the plate changed from what it came from the factory with.

I believe SV tech can do it, but they want proof of the diff change. Even then only 4x2`s can be done, 4x4 are 3000kg max.

I did enquire with them but they weren't interested at the time.

Have a 2020 reg iveco daily single rear wheel 7000kg gtw. It’s a single cab with a box between the cab and body all ali and it weights in at 2790kg empty. Pulls our Kubota u20-3a plus breaker and buckets no bother on the flat honestly a bit gutless on even slight hills. Bit thirsty aswell but saying that only 3000 mile on it so far. Only thing I dislike it’s far to high geared in reverse.

Was on behind a 2016 l200. Loved the l200 to be honest and had her up plated on air and all the rest but took a lot of time and effort and still got stopped regular and grilled over paperwork so but the bullet and went the iveco route.

Manual and I think 150bhp and 2.3 litre
They do them in 140 bhp or 160bhp in the 2.3. (You can get a 120bhp one but rarely specced in uk)

My 2020 iveco heavy like yours, I've got the 160 auto 2.3 and it has plenty of umph with the trailer on ect.

I've also got a 3.0l 140bhp and that is a good power house but it's bloody thirsty and it's just the same whether loaded or unloaded.

I have a 3l 210hp auto. Tows great, but is thirsty. Really depends how far you go as to whether thirst is important.

My 3l is an 06 plate.

I've 2 vans also which are both 2.3 one been a 120bhp the other been a 140bhp.
They aren't both rated at at 7000kg train weight. One is 6300kgs. These are single wheel.

I've had some twin axle ones rated at 6500kg train in the past. So don't just assume they are all plated for 7000kg train.

I've ran iveco for around 11 years now.

They do everything I ask of them and more.

They do have a few things to keep an eye on if buying used. Panel van the worst bit is the rear wheel arches rotting out, usually it goes unseen if they are ply lined.

They aren't as comfortable as a transit although the new is vastly better.

I'm not called ivecoman because I've owned hiluxs longer and have 3 😁 at the moment.

I do have a 21 year old sprinter tipper which is a good truck but will only tow 2000kgs.
