The 8026 has a perkins 1.5L lump putting out 18.4KW and 96lbf ft of torque. It has more dipper breakout (although interestingly not bucket? Irrelevant for timber work anyway

) More Aux flow, more weight built in so no need for any additional counterweight, more slew speed so faster cycle times and therefore more productive. The JCB 8026 was the best 2.8tonner you could buy and will be sorely missed. Its replacement has a lot to live up to and as others have said, productivity doesn't seem to be top of the list of requirements these days for manufacturers.
