I like cake
the biggest issue that i would think of is

non UKCA
Non uk emmisions?
engine not making the power where we want ( hydraulic perfomance etc)
Tracking
biggest problem , parts supply. We cannot see parts for machines not built for the UK, of corse you can order from china maybe but good luck

that said huge savings, better than a shovel like i say to anybody even looking at 3k micros

Got a sy80 in at the moment just under 2k hours still drives decent, paints in good nick all round nice machine. Does everything it needs to do well enough. Few rattles here and there. Foot pedals going backwards are shite but other than that good machine. Id still say i prefer a 290-2 though, more power and smoother.

Funny id take a punt on a sany roller if it was really much cheaper but not a digger (yet). Thing with a roller is you do a job and perhaps spend an hour or 2 on the roller. I don't think I could put enough hrs on a roller over 10 years to make sense buying a new mainstream brand. Like dumpers they are cheap to hire and you can get best size to match the job then

Also in my mind rollers are pretty simple things. Forward back and bend in the middle.
No slew ring no pilot controls and it's not the end of the world if they are a little bit jerky.

buy a Bomag and keep it tidy and after 10 years it’s worth maybe 10/12k , that’s 1k a year ‘cost’, which is no more than 5 hires a year , but then you have it in the yard when you need it .. if the Sany turns out to be the best roller ever and everyone in the industry knows it then great but if not they need to be cheap enough to counter that from the off!

Overall it’s not really a money saving exercise, more convenience and time saving, with the added bonus of doing a better job as your likely to go grab the roller than making do with the labourer walking around the the wacker for a hour!

You know about these things. How does the Sany compaction force compare with better known brands the same size?

You excel at man maths. I'm jealous!

My problem is I can justify that for a tracked dumper that goes out maybe five times a year. But some years I don't need a roller once.

A secondhand Sany would do me!

As Druid says, if you want top marks in man maths it’s a 25% discount on a good year.. 😂
