It's rare it's an issue. This one was brought for parts and wound up getting stitched together again (see counterweight). It's actually only got 800hrs. I'd rather stick the other one out but as said it's on hire and this one can earn a bit before I spend on it
Will pay for itself on this job though.

If the price is right then don’t hang around. I’d I hadn’t been the first to message the company selling mine (had the salesman’s number from buying a tracked dumper) it would have been sold straight away to someone else.
How much is the secondhand one and with what hours?
You won’t regret a tab boom. I was backing out of this pond job yesterday up these banks with the boom fully up and not worrying about tipping- you could just feel that it was fine even if it rocked slightly. JCB really got the extra counterweight right.

I’ve no issues with TAB, in either finding a sweet spot for digging/grading etc, for me it operates nice in all positions, but I’m a backhoe op from birth so used to grading on extradig etc.. no issues with it being wobbly either!
The only thing is I’d rather the tab function be on the joystick to clear the floor up.
Final verdict will be out when the Engcon is fitted

I’ve gotten used to it on the JCB, so long as the grab and rotator are on rollers I’m ok with it.

Yeah they are, the tab pedal is huge - comfy to use all day I guess. Boom pedal swaps to a foot rest.

Mine was last of the full Hitachi branding as it was a stock machine so already stickered up - I did request upon ordering the machine all the hitachi stickers remained in place and not swapped out to landcroc
