Big day tomorrow .... after 20 odd years of trading using pickups/landrovers/3.5t and 7.5 trucks and transport companies to move my bigger machines I should finally get the ability to move my 8t machine myself looking forward to the efficiency it brings.
Will eventually get it kitted out properly like my 7.5t with somewhere for all the tools etc but it will have to wait while it's raining... this weather is too good to be in workshop.

Long day but it's home ... initial impressions from the 3hr drive home are very good, see how she handles the 8 tonner

Good news on the weight front .....with hand tools on,1/2 tank of fuel and 2 of us in it was 9100kg over the weigh bridge.
And couldn't resist trying the 8t for size, I can't lift it up yet as havent sorted chains etc but it fits lovely, not so tight as it's a pita to load but just snug,there is 1.4m of arm stuck out the back with a door open, if it's on its gone as they say.

I will see what it looks like up in the air, can put a bucket on and the bucket ram clears the back door and you can shut it, but the arm is going to be fairly high like that.
Could put it on a plate to move it around but for once or twice a week local I don't think it's worth it, door chains tight back

Saw a french lad on Facebook runs same lorry and 5m skip size with a 9t wacker on it, I thought mine looked much more reasonable

That’s a good weight for it, my 18ton plant wagon is the same I built the body to strong when I redid it so gained nearly a ton

Good bit of anti theft in the side tray and somewhere for the ramps for the little stuff to get into the skip.

Yes its tidy .... couple of big lockable boxes each side at back of cab and we will be spoilt for storage, we used to keep a lot of little stuff....pencils,tape measures,Stanley,batteries,water proofs etc in the cab on iveco which worked o.k but you tbh you wouldn't want to be up n down out of the new one all day long so it needs something you can handy access at ground level.

I get you with that. Everytimei get in little daf after big daf I end up landing on the floor hard as I'm expecting it been another step to reach it.

Tank and Compact filter to go in in high water table - muck away and 4.5m2 of dry mix in - all in sharp order

Was a bugger to know where you were under the chute at the conc plant though so will definitely be putting a camera on it straight away so I know when to move forward as gear drops in.

Anyone know what to look for ?

2 x cameras maybe and split screen... one camera on roof looking into skip and another seeing the hook/back area ? Wireless or wired etc ?

Be nice to get it right first time.

Oh and the budget sitestak had its first outing
