You can wheel it on a trailer by your self? Same with unloading with the wheels they are quite manageable

Tell me about it I’ve come home this week with a welfare unit and a massive leaf blower 🥵
I missed out on a nice new Holland micro 🤦🏼‍♂️

I have a pedestrian bomag roller. I like it as it weighs 500kg and can fit on the plant trailer with the 1.8 tonner. You can cover bigger areas than a plate. And also lift it with the digger to get it into areas. I think for small groundworks it makes a good partner with a plate compactor too.

It’s what I do!
Is that a pre breaker version, or just a roller in its own right?

Didn't realise those single drum ped rollers weighed so much

I am the proud owner of a fairport pp46, had it a few years, was bought second hand, I would say its good very good quality and made in England so well worth a look. I've never had to do anything to it other than replace an already knackered engine, they were very helpful over the phone when I had questions. I see on their website they have good selection of equipment.. I never knew until reading this thread I wanted a diesel forward and reverse wacker 🤦‍♂️😂

The proper bomag/terex ones do. I think lumag and Fairport do lighter duty ones that are only a few hundred kgs.
I really rate them myself- plates are great for awkward stuff but can't beat a roller for speed and quality of finish

I've got a ped bomag myself and like you say they are great for areas that are too big for plates but don't justify taking sit on roller. Bomag 71 is about 1/2 ton and tbh i think anything lighter would be a waste of time.

I find the pedestrian rollers take a bit of a heavier operator to use and a bit more practice to leave a nice finish. Many times watched someone let go of the drive handle and be thrown up in the air by the handle simultaneously leaving a dent in the ground

Got offered the use of one on site on Friday … I stuck to tracking it in until the 120 turned up 🤣
I did this little job with mine last week- resurfacing 130 meters of track 3 meters wide with scalpings- took around an hour to roll it once. I really think they're fine to use and I've used plenty of sit ones so know the comparison.
