Just looked it upWhat’s the tear out in the Volvo ec18?
Yeah think depends on wether short dipper or not too. Wacker ET20 is dipper12.5 and bucket breakout of 18.8. your Kubota kx027-4 is 12.9 and 22 respectivelyJust looked it up
Sany is the same as the EC18E 6.9
But the Volvo EC20E is 10.33 !
Does your wacker have the VDS on it ?Yeah think depends on wether short dipper or not too. Wacker ET20 is dipper12.5 and bucket breakout of 18.8. your Kubota kx027-4 is 12.9 and 22 respectively
No. I didn't want it so had to do a special order because the standard UK spec all has vds now. Whereas mine is what they call the European spec. No vds, dual auxiliaries and short dipper. Vds could be great in the right job such as trenching across a hillside as nice to be sitting level all the time but for me it added more height to the cab getting in and out all but mainly the vds ram is mounted below the track frame on the ET20 so would be a problem with ground clearance. If I was going for the fixed undercarriage version ET24 id probably get vds as the ram doesn't sit so low.Does your wacker have the VDS on it ?
I wouldn’t want it either . Good that they can be bought without though . I see they do a 2 door option on the cab . That would be nice as the cab of my Volvo gets roasting hot in the summer even with door open ! I know I could go for canopy but we can get more cold than hot weather so the cab is great in the winterNo. I didn't want it so had to do a special order because the standard UK spec all has vds now. Yeah mine has 2 door- I'll be honest I don't like it and wish they just had a window instead. I think if you had vds and were tilted up on one side then the 2 door would be useful as can just get out on the easier side but the second door doesn't fix back against the cab like the first door does. Wackers windscreen design is pretty good though and the 2nd door has a latch which will hold it open 4". There is also great visibility and feels spacious in the cab as no console down one side like most diggers are now. Swings and roundabouts is my conclusion with the 2nd doorI wouldn’t want it either . Good that they can be bought without though . I see they do a 2 door option on the cab . Interesting....said dealer had yard full of Sanys at one point ?Hopefully Sany have improved since 2023 when one of my customers purchased one brand new. The lads hate it, they'd climb over it to get to the much older Hanix machines, which drive very nice. It hasnt given much bother out of warranty but I hope it doesn't as the dealer closed down Sany brand and moved to another Chinese brand so what parts availability is gonna be like when I do need to start fixing it who knows. I've done some seat time on it and it drives flippin awful. Driven lots of other non chinese brands that drive leagues better than that and are better finished off. The resale will be terrible on the Sany vs a used Volvo. I wouldn't even take a second to think between the two brands even if they were £2k apart, you'd get the money back at resale and drivability. Both a mechanics and drivers view, I do own a Chinese tractor along the Deere's I have so I'm not biased, they have a place but not in a commercial setting yet I don't feel.
