Not dead, massively scaled back. One of our guys has been out there supporting some massive Cat gensets since the project started. He told me just before Christmas that it’s been cut back from over 100km to about 1.5km, despite most of the earthworks having been completed.interesting

I was talking to the guy today who’s been out there several times from the beginning. Originally it was going to be 180km, now reduced to 1.6 and probably they‘ll stop short of that. The full length of the foundations have been dug, so at least they’ve got the start of a good canal system. Not dead, massively scaled back. More money than sense?I was talking to the guy today who’s been out there several times from the beginning. More money than they know what to do with it, has been slowing down there for almost 2 years though. Has been big fleets of machines sold off regularly from companies pulling back. Getting shafted by clients regularly has put a lot of companies off working there too. I know a lot who chased the money when things slowed down in Dubai, jumped across to Saudi, vast majority are back here again.More money than sense?
Or a possible reduction in their business on the horizon![]()
