To be honest, I think I'm going to self enforce a social media ban, keep market place, here and a couple of other forums. But all the mainstream stuff and especially the mainstream news media, just stop watching, it's just over sensationalised doom to get viewers and generate money from adverts, what I can't fathom is, have they all not realised they all advertise each other, so they're all paying each other. it's beyond stupid.

rarely look at my FB page or post -- just use MP ... haven't watched the box news in some time - hence I often ask "what have I missed?" here ... CNBA to be honest it's all over-hyped doom and gloom and just winds me up ... the terrestrial TV is utter shite, so only watch perhaps an hour or two a week of selected 'interesting looking' prog.s ... and I am damned if I'm going to 'subscribe' to crap that I'll probably not watch anyway

Welding on a fairly decent scale..
And listen to that engine!
@V8Druid
and some very nice welding (y)

Once spent a few days welding an 18" square axle beam back together off a big RB undercarriage, that'd snapped, with a firm i worked for in 1980 .... vee-ed at 45 all round to an inch square, with a lance - attached it to a gert lump of beam to keep it straight and vertical welded either side, for multiple passes, alternating side to side, roll it 90 deg.s and ditto and repeat, etc., 'til it was back together - double handed water cooled torch running 2.0mm wire in a silver suit ... was a long week

I'm amazed that they got given the bits to put back on that tank
done quite a bit of work on RHA (Rolled Homogenous Armour) plate with the Royal Ordnance, guns and vehicles div., Nottingham, many years ago ... strange stuff to weld :unsure:
Had quite a bit of it sat about the yard for a long time - made good road plates :giggle: - if you didn't mind the shrapnel holes here and there

Has anyone seen these guys on Facebook

Some cracking trucks they work out of like the absolute thing of wet dreams. But I can't believe how backwards health and safety is over the pond. Simple things like no proper barriers around a 20ft deep hole in the middle of a street and still running tools with no anti vibration handles.
