Used Volvo EC 27D vs ECR25D

I’m looking at buying a bigger mini .
I really like the wee Volvo ec18c I have so I’d like to go for a bigger 2.5 ish tonne machine .
I’m not a fan of zero swing machine v standard counterweights so I wondered has anyone any experience of these Volvos and what the differences are between them . I did have an ecr25D on hire recently and was quite impressed with it but I’ve not had a shot of the ec27D at all .

I got an ecr25d.can’t fault it really.pretty stable but you live with it.big bonus is never having to worry about where the arse is.

I have one very pleased with it .
It can be a bit noddy if you start taking liberty's with it but I run scandi over sized buckets including a 750mm and it handles them fine .
They are a fast precise machine you sit up fairly high and have great track pedals.
I regularly dig 2.5 m + trial pits no problem .
Been reliable and seem to have strong residual. .

So the EC27D shares the same chassis as the ECR25D, but to improve handling and lifting performance, they have mounted the turret much further back on the slew ring.
There’s some really nice features on those Volvos, and whilst the hydraulics are a little sensitive, you do get used to it and they drive well - cabs are excellent and the build quality seems good too.
If there was a dealer round here then I would probably own one by now, especially with how keen their prices have been compared to other manufacturers recently from what people tell me.
Still below £30k for hydraulic hitch, double aux lines and buckets - I think that’s really good

Sorry.
I have a ecr25d.
It has 300 mm rubber tracks additional counter weight long dipper with hill hitch .
With a grader fitted and 3 buckets on an ifor plant trailer I think model no gh105 ? It weighs approximately 3380 kg on the weigh bridge so bit of muk etc yiu are right on if !

No, I didn't know there was one? Spoke to Volvo at Plantworks and even this year at Hillhead, was told Birmingham was the closest!

Don't know the dealership name. It just has Volvo construction machinery on the side of the building visible from the road and I've never been in there. Can always see the yard full of kit when you go over the flyover.

It would have to be a utility dealer to sell under 14 ton normally, that may be a heavy volvo dealership?
Smt web site has a dealership locator/map for under 14 ton .
There is definitely a closer dealership than Birmingham.
I bought mine from capital plant welwyn garden city that is nearer I would of thought .

So having looked at the dealer map, I am near the border - but inside of region L which covers from Lands End up to Drudiland, across and down the M40 and then what looks like the A3 down to Russel island in the south. A massive area. Covered by one dealer in Exeter. That's a long way away from me! My JCB's couldn't break down fast enough to require fixing at all the JCB depots between me and Exeter!
Region M which is the rest of the south east - east of the A3 by the looks of the map - is covered by a dealer in Maidstone. Now they are closer - slightly - but I'm technically not in their area. It would actually be easier to get to Welwyn GC from here than Maidstone, maybe quicker too but again out of area.
Anyway, my point is I'm not very close to a Volvo mini dealer and this is apparent by the lack of phone calls I've ever had in return for giving my card out and being very interested in their products at several trade shows....
If they aren't too bothered about selling one - they defiantly wont be about coming up from Exeter to fix it!
Hence I don't run Volvos....
