Maybe the lack of sales, will lead to more reasonable costs...... But doubt it.

Problem is what else is there to replace them, one of the most versatile vehicles out there.

I would potentially go to a 4x4 proper full size van but none are able to tow more than 3t

Not had a full size van or even a medium, had an escort van years ago followed by a couple of tippers then 3 different pickups

Good deals on new ones I'm told ATM 😂.
But yes exactly.
I'm seriously re visiting the grenadier again .end of next year. Think it's only vehicle I can comfortably run as a long term keeper.
Done a lot of research since my last foray into it.

I'm a real pick up fan having had 12/13 hilux since1980ish.current double cab is 20 reg with only 20 thou on it and only used for personal use now as I no longer tow diggers about.gets used on farm and I do love it but won't be having another due to reasons posted above.id love a Land Cruiser bt £90k is too much for a new one and tax and insurance will be astronomical.ill probably be keeping my hilux till it dies .cant see I'll ever sell it so could end up being parked in the shed.maybe things my change when we have a change of leaders but can only hope

You’d have to keep it long term, depreciation is off the chart.

I would pick a van to work from every time over a pickup.

I just got rid of my 20 plate Hilux for a 110 Defender commercial. I really wanted a 4wd van that could tow 3.5 tonne but none seem to exist. Had a test drive of the Grenadier as well, thought it was really well put together but I couldn’t get past the seating position. I only drove it for 20-30 minutes and my knee was seizing up. That might say more about the state of my knees than the truck though 😂

Only because we have wank pickup setups in this country. The Aussie setups are far ahead.
Obviously varies by industry but I think two big opening sides and a central walkway would be the ultimate groundworks package.

There isn’t many folk who actually ‘work’ a pickup in the business world.. i dont blame anyone exploiting the loophole! I’m loving having a large van for work, everything onboard, space to chuck as much extra kit in the back as I need , full sheets of ply , mixer, breakers etc. Defender is then the ultimate towing vehicle, which then does all the ‘admin’ jobs as well, as the van is simply too big to take into a lot of places and park up etc. an expensive way to do it don’t get me wrong, but it works well

I reckon I can park MWB Transit (traction permitting) better than a Defender!

My 90 turns on a sixpence! Most nimble and get anywhere vehicle I’ve ever had! Only problem is It’s just as wide as it is long ! camera system on it is amazing, so that makes up for any oversize issues imo!
Hang on.. you talking about new shape or old?
