A lot of vans have two side doors also.
Does having a fixed bulkhead effect things in the eyes of HMRC ?
I think it’s the combination of Max 3 seats/ bulkhead/ load capacity (but JLR and inneos have got around the latter somehow)

All depends on what you trying to do.
BIK is the tightest and gets really picky.
A transporter kombi is a no no but a traffic is etc.
Grenadier no for bik
But a def is...hence their sales have gone utterly crazy ...until some kids with a laptop shut em down 🙄

I think the Grenadier failed due to less than 1000kg payload.

Yes...but things get complex and they then look at the load space and partion is it bigger than passenger area etc etc . Absolute minefield. HMRC guidance well out of date as well.
Spent far to much of my time over the years looking into it 😑

That must be as dual purpose vehicle with 4 seats rather than a van with 2 seats as fiesta vans are still commercial. Even transit couriers and connects are under 1t payload.

I think it's a good idea. Most back seats are full of tools anyway on working pickups.
I should think at most something would have be done to sabotage any future chance of fitting seats

I think on 1 of the 4x4 the bolt holes are filled with weld for the seat points or something along those lines

I'm sure it's already an option for some time on some European rangers.
Not sure how it would work, for the the rules for the defenders but worst case they could come from factory with out rear seats tether points like the commercial grenadiers

A few other isuzu dealers have launched the same advert today, so you'd like to think it's correct and an isuzu thing not a dealer trying a new angle

Not too sure but would imagine would have to be specced they way and approved before being built, same as the king cabs are not classed as commercial for bik and aia

one came past/across my bow as I was sat at a junction yesterday .. looked alright -- not a big price tag for that - dunno whether they still are, but used to be all Merc. engine/box/running gear under them
That ended along time ago I believe. My dad’s last one was 2015 and I’m sure it was all Korean everythingness gone to Volvo now and doesn’t look back!

Just been into van centre
Pickup sales literally dropped off a cliff. No stock held now.
Not really a surprise is it.

I remember our local toyota dealers would only have single cabs in stock and to see a double cab was a rarity. All the same basic spec too.

The last 15 or so years has just seen them become a fashion item with the added tax incentive. Now that's not there, there's many other nicer driving things you'd pick first.

Also the cost of them is eye watering. Local isuzu dealer and there is £50k+ prices on the screens
