Tyre chains

What about a load of those zip-tie snow ‘chain’ jobbies? Depending on what sort of wheels are on the car they would almost definitely be the most straightforward to fit. Probably a load of crap but disposable and likely to be a lot better than standard car tyres for the short run your sister needs them for.
Got my missus a set of these the other year for her boot. Rwd. Not had to use yer but hand to have in there just in case. Be the cheapest option for a present!

There's only about a 8 - 10 times in the year when the road is bad enough from the main road up to her house which is only 1/2 a mile, un-tarred up a slight gradient. She usually parks at the bottom of the road and walks but it leaves the car very exposed to the traffic as can't get far off the road without blocking all the other traffic that uses the road. I think a set of socks or lightweight chain would work ok for this but it has to be simple to fit. The easy fit versions however seem to be double the price 😶

One way of looking at it...buy her a set she'll not need them again...don't and you guarantee 2ftvof snow for weeks 😏

Yep but I reckon this cold snap is getting about as low but no white stuff here...
Not had more than an inch or three ever since that dump in 2010.
