Looking at that i wouldn't want to try and but it on a 10ftGet a 12’ can get mine anywhere 2’ won’t make any difference on manoeuvrability
He’s planning no ladder rack so would go further forwardLooking at that i wouldn't want to try and but it on a 10ft
It's tight but I think there would be room to shave a ft off each end of the trailer and it'd be ok looking at that pic, but yeah 12ft is going to be better all round as digger arm sticks a fair bit out the back on a 10ft too. It was mainly if I went down the tipper route that I'd want it to be 10ft.Looking at that i wouldn't want to try and but it on a 10ft
That's my 14ft twin and 3tPost in thread 'The 'Today's Job' thread' https://www.planttalk.co.uk/threads/the-todays-job-thread.54/post-121938
but what breed were they Aiden .. they'm all different ... no lift point on my 6t Alldrive, that I can recallA company i worked for moved 5 ton dumpers with a flat bed hiab and lifted them with a single chain from the lifting point in the middle. They lifted fairly square
I cant remember what make, but I`ve done exactly what Aiden @CPS said.but what breed were they Aiden .. they'm all different ... no lift point on my 6t Alldrive, that I can recall![]()
Have you seen the gateways in DevonThat's my 14ft twin and 3t
Tbf I got fed up of my 10ft flat always was just a bit small. I honestly reckon you can get a 12 anywhere a 10 will go and I can get a 14ft into a single gateway on single track road as long as there's a decent verge...![]()
and some of the hedges ... tank proofHave you seen the gateways in Devon![]()
Heavy buggers though aren't they. TBh Ifor have served me well and it's all I've had for 15 years. Call it a mid life crisis but I fancy something different this time round. Looked at bateson (nice but massive lead time) Nugent most likely.Get a 12 foot Ifor tipper and sell any other trailers you own - they do every job you can think of.
The nugents look decent - they are definitely on my radar next time I’m trailer shopping.Heavy buggers though aren't they. TBh Ifor have served me well and it's all I've had for 15 years. I thought so . Don’t know what they are like on indespension units, I would prefer springs but atleast it is wide enough for the dumper.I saw that the other day. Cheap for a tipper![]()
It's a grand cheaper than the 10ft Nugent trailer- which you can just squeeze a Terex TA3 on. Think the devil's in the detail there though. For the extra grand with Nugent you get leaf springs, steel floor, internal lashing points, and proper side latches as opposed to a rattly lynch pin arrangement...I thought so . But again. Ifor Vs Nugent. Same flatbed trailer with sides and ramps. The Nugent is an extra £500 granted but to my mind all the "issues" with ifor seem to have been ironed out with Nugent and think the extra £500 is well worth it. Better tyres, less rattly, no annoying side lip, internal heavy duty lashing points as standard. It's easy to get caught up by price I agree but once you actually start looking like every thing you generally get what you pay for. Nugent is same price as Indespension I had a price for and the Nugent is better speced in my opion. Although the ifor plant GH1054 is very hard to beat.I've been nothing but Ifor for 20 years. I had a good snoop around Nugent at Royal Cornwall show before Covid and was very impressed with them... till I got the price! Considerably more expensive than IW.
I don't tow every day, but if I did I'd try a nugent as they seem much less rattly. And there is no such thing as one trailer to do all. We have 4 currently and I still have a hankering for a REALLY big trailer. Something I can put a LWB transit or my Moffett on would be nice![]()
