I will keep checking it between jobs like I say the other unit is staying on the shelf.

Very wise. If it seized, it’s damaged. They don’t heal up just with a shot of oil. It’ll fail totally. Personally I’d be fitting the new one as soon as possible, rather than have the problem of it failing on a job.

don't think it siezed though Bri .... just stopped going round due to being jammed full of tish ... but yeh PITA having to swap it out in the sh1t on site

Hi the cover plate can be removed by fire digging out the securing ring around the outside lip (usually quite easy) next find a grease nipple to fit the oil filler plug, auto grease it to pop the cover plate, lots of cleaning, or you can put loosely some cable ties around the motor and cover, and use an air line, making sure you get a good seal, in my experience the reduction boxes never get ther oil changed and it soon turns to solid and will lock up the planetary gears.

After it flush and new oil its still going....for the moment at least ..... but the spare is on the shelf and going nowhere.

Yes have done it once and will do it again when it comes back to yard again
