Just found the heads off the bolts I cut off. So I now know they are 15mm head, good news! bad news is they weren't as fooked as I thought

European it would be 17, but some Japanese are 15 mm. Got some on my 008. A cat branded M10 is 16mm.

funnily enough, I have some 16AF M10s on the 'Drema ... and yeh have seen 15AFs, but as you said before, usually have a shoulder/flange under them, as not much of a head for a 10mm bolt

Last time it was a obscure nut, for about £15

I don't consider that excessive TBH ..
HT sets, particularly obscure ones are not cheap ...
dare say for a box you'd've gotten maybe 70+% discount, maybe more ...
list prices on all bolts are eye watering until massive discounts are applied
