absolutely ..... all the goon suits/masks/etc. when pratting about with it aren't worth a FF ... 's a joke
yep - the only way a suit will work is either with an air bottle or a very long hose and a blower at the far end.

We're all f***ed basically. Don't touch teflon coated kitchen ware any more. Gone stainless steel instead for all pots and pans. Our old wok you could see the Teflon starting to flake off- tiny bits but no good🙄.
Where to draw the line though- walk around a paranoid mess if start overthinking everything. Stone dust, asbestos water, silicone sealant, wood dust, woodburner smoke, diesel particulates- all stuff I've had dealings with in the last week alone!

HTF do these old timers live to 90 odd then ? Lived a cracking lifestyle as well most of the ones I know. None of this modern avoid this avoid that stuff.

I do think as I've got older I'm more aware of crap and tend to make judgement calls on risk rather than just crack on. All about balance I guess. Remember....

Without being to morbid I think the current stats say 1 in 2 of us will get cancer at some point- pretty sobering but does seem quite high. To a degree I think your either genetically going to live a long life or not. Friend of mine was a personal trainer for some big names in London- fit as a fiddle and clean nutrition etc Found himself on the operating table at 53 having triple heart bypass- all in the genes apparently.

C is so utterly shite
Dad's battled it for nigh in 10 years. Had multiple treatments with varying success. Last Christmas was fitting a kitchen for mates now can hardly get off the sofa. So fekkin crap.
For what it's worth he's only 61.

Sorry to moan just pretty real ATM.

Sorry to hear, sounds awful. 10 years is a long time to be battling away at it- he's obviously putting up a good fight but not nice for you as a family seeing it happen😕 .

unusually spent a few hours watching the box last night - late
very low budget, but well made film about the people who decoded the genome ... late 50s/early 60s ... was fascinating

then straight after, which I wasn't gonna watch initially, but just had to after the first minute, a documentary on genetic engineering/gene manipulation/therapy/editing/etc.
it was bloody fascinating and gave such clear explanations of what / how / why / when ...
Can't recall what the prog was called - brilliant

they now and have had a while the tools to edit DNA to remove/replace/replicate/add gene sequences to defective or heathy DNA strands/chromosomes ('s what they were doing with RNA edited vaccines with covid ):(
seems the only thing holding this tech back ATM is ethics (and probably all the big Pharma.s who make billions from drug treatments for 'editable problems')

they have the tech to fix my DNA - give me back the gene I'm missing from a chromosome - and never need the hamster juice again :oops: My DNA has already been sequenced, when I was diagnosed - was the only way to give a firm diagnosis, between my Gaucher's and another called myelofibrosis - both present with almost identical symptoms, 'cept the Gaucher's is now treatable - myelo. is game over - 6 to 12

ditto any one else with a genetically inherited disorder - or the Big C - or all sorts of stuff .... and that's just remedial/fixing stuff. :)

the ethics issues appear and raise their heads, when it gets beyond this - designer babies - extension of life for possibly decades - genetic extermination of mutant/rogue/defective/deformative cells rapidly - etc., etc, armies of 6' 6" Schwarzenegger type soldiers who feel no pain/never tire/etc. - real sci fi type stuff, but now very do-able - but for the ethics of it :unsure: (unless you're Chinese - Apparently  - been and are, currently up to all sorts:()

best piece of TV I've seen in years - profoundly interesting ... didn't get to bed 'til half one though and had to be up at 07.15 this morning :censored: WTF do they put such interesting stuff on so bloody late

For anyone interested in this sort of thing a few links for info.

My father fought it off for eight years - determined **** that he was, but very difficult to watch and live with ... you have my sympathies Gavin - bloody hard times :(

Not just pre disposed to c and other health problems but intolerances to some things.
I know some older blokes who spent years cutting fibre cement sheets with angle grinders and driving cables combines yet in perfect health. Yet supposedly the youngest confirmed case of asbestosis and mesothelial was from sitting at the back of a classroom next to a deteriorating asbestos panel. (Don't know how true that is but was from a training course)

It's ok before long we will be living in the matrix.

everyone is born with dormant cancer cells - it's whether anything triggers them or not - the 1 in 2 figure is somewhat alarming though as it would indicate far more trigger-ings :(:(

Certainly Asbestos has a bad reputation for a reason.
Cancer is probably not just down to genetics, they may not help but what is still not clear is what the triggers are. One thing for sure, glucose is something that it needs to grow. I hear of great things going on in USA where patients have been put on stringent food fasting followed by reduced carb/high protein diet.
As for meddling with genetics and MRNA. This is a major push by the Big Pharma. It will end in tears!!
Interesting article in MSN this morning regarding major increase in bowel cancer in under 50’s. The Lancet found increases in 27 out of 50 countries it looked at. I would bet a very large amount of money that this is related to MRNa vaccines!!!

Not necessarily. Statistics like that are very vague. People are living longer, therefore is the increase in cancer due to a high percentage of people getting cancer at an age that wasn't being reached as frequently.
Are cancer types being discovered that where previously classified or attributed to different illnesses.
Is cancer being detected earlier or better than previously. Whereas before other factors would have lead to someone's downfall before the cancer was discovered.
I do not know the answer to any of these. But I do find statistics intriguing. And know that it takes an awful lot more research to understand them than is generally easily presented.
Not dismissing anything or down playing cancer at all. It's just very complicated deciphering statistics.

Someone we knew when I was growing up had cancer- they gave her a few months. Very little that NHS were able to offer that would of yielded a more positive prognosis. She went out to Mexico in the end as an alternative therapy/treatment. Highly controlled diet etc, I don't know what else went on but the cancer remained under control and gave her a few more years- doctors here couldn't believe it. She died in the end from in but they were convinced the mexican form of treatment was what gave her the extra time.

we've both had summat .. quite covid like, long term cough (4+ weeks) - Pam lost her smell and taste - I didn't though and am now virtually over it - she's still got a pretty ropey, chesty, dry cough, but going slowly - terrible snots with it initially, but none of the shivers/sweats, etc. I'd associate with a flu ... the bottle(s) got un-corked in 2020 and the genies are out for ever
think my 5 doses of covid (and improving recovery times, each time) may have helped a lot
