Do get where your coming from but surely if it's 30mph on the shoulder with cushion trucks protecting the crews its possible ?
Do agree the amount of prats on the roads seems to be increasing rapidly...see them belting through red X's all the time now ...

there's also to antithesis of this .... coming up from Plymouth last Monday evening ... there were stretches of road with 50 flashers and ABSOLUTELY nothing to warrant them .... might've been a few hours earlier, 'praps, but sweet FA when we came through...FFS monitor and turn the ****ing things off when no longer needed .. it's no wonder ppl ignore these things TBH :rolleyes: .... stop using them when it's not needed :mad:

Again a valid point think I got nabbed by auto cameras tail end of a 40 bit and must have sped up a bit quick, fekkers

Bit of a sad outcome,no real details yet.
I used to live 2 mins from here.My daughter who is still in area says some bits,maybe a wheel landed on a car in the Tesco carpark that is below this section.. Its a tall bit of road too,must of been a shock if loading a car at the time..

If you escorted traffic through so they couldn't accelerate it might be possible but it is staggering the level of stupid from people. They drive through the cones all the time or just as bad they clip the cones and send them flying. The big cones they use on motorways are bloody heavy and do some damage when a lorry pings them around. Then you get the twats taking photos.

I’ve been told the restrictions get put on as soon as there is even a whisper of a problem and any controller can flick the switch without consulting anyone.

Switching them off however requires an internal enquiry to ensure the hazard has gone and needs to be approved by ‘management’ who are probably too busy / not interested or in the pub so takes forever.

I sincerely hope that is not true but I fear it probably is.
