Common sense I think plays a huge roll in it! and possibly a No claim culture! fascinating ... also called granny beetles round here to .... we're inundated with them, but always leave them alone as amongst other things they make short work of rotting wood of any type ... pretty sure they've remained fairly unchanged in millennia too ... occasionally see the odd 'silver fish' late at night too ... they've been around for 400 million years
