take a look at the pix on this FB page of Padstow harbour commissioners answer to de-silting ... D9 and a pair of scrapers ..... how the hell they got them down into Padstow is miraculous :oops::oops: -- some great pix, fair play and lots of them as you scroll down the page

and for those who don't do FB ... some more :giggle: and for those that don't know Padstow - it IS tighter than yer average DA - and they'm watertight :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

want guts and know what you're doing venturing out onto that sort of terrain

credit to the original 'snappers' messrs Higman & Constance for some fantastic pix from '83 -- and a quote from Mr Higman to add some detail
"In 1983 when Western Excavating (ECC) Ltd put a D9H and Terex TS24 motor scraper into Padstow Harbour to clear out many feet of mud.
It worked that well that Padstow Harbour Commissioners asked them to come back again, but this time with 2 x TS24" :love::love:

That would have been amazing to see, must have had very tight window to work with the tide.
