do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
I think you should sell it quick before it starts squeaking in reverse.
I'll give you a grand for it?

I've been renovating the backup work bus.
Got a galv chassis coming in a few months so I'm prepping the body.

That is bad. When looking for my chassis I saw a galv Navara chassis available somewhere.

My mate bought a pickup years ago which had lived in a quarry, was in quite good nick body wise but hell was it slow. Every where underneath was packed solid with years of dust a sludge set like concrete. Spent half a day under it with hammer and chisel it flew afterwards 😆

still not convinced with latest style 'master hitch' though:ROFLMAO:
Got the same machine, 15m long reach on hire Monday. Lovely machine, but hate the hitch. Glad its not just me. I think it is the worst hitch we use. Okay if you are on a nice smooth concrete pad, but any unevenness between bucket and machine and it is a pain to pick up. You woudn't have thought it would be difficult to chamfer the edges of the hitch to make it easier. Never seen a master hitch on anything other than HE kit and I understand the boss owns both HE and Masterhitch.

Could have a navara instead 🤣
Seems to be a Nissan problem. This is my Patrol at 12 years old. You could push a hole in the chassis rails, it was that rotten behind the rear axle. 😩. And that was 10 months after an MOT with no findings!! He didn’t look very hard. New second hand chassis it was.

That was 11 years ago. Now I am replacing the piston rings as the compression was half of what it should be.

Also giving the head a good as an EGR valve doesn’t mix with oil being sent back from the breather to the inlet manifold. EGR valve is now blocked off and an oil catch can installed.

Yeah bit of a 'character',bit better than old hitch they had, needed dedicated 'reverse' bucket but still makes life harder than need be

A lot better than the old hitch. I stopped using HE for a time as they struggled to send out buckets you could actually get on the hitch at all. Shows how bad it was, I went over to Land and Water and they were still using pin on buckets which at least worked. I don't know if they use quick hitches now, I guess they must, I don't see manually changing a pin on a 20t machine meets all the safety stuff unless you have special training etc.

Always fancied a patrol but the only one I've ever seen for sale over here was rotten. Their rare as hens teeth.

I swapped all the air suspension for coil springs today on the range rover. The last time I towed the digger the car had a fit and hyper extended all the springs topping out the suspension.

Mine is a SWB and is now 23 years old. Previous owner was a farmer in Essex, so every hole was filled with dirt. Mix that with the air on the coast and you have the perfect recipe for the rot to set In.

The SWB is very popular with the off road community and I have several people that are interested if I ever sell it. As you say, as rare as hens teeth.

Was initially looking at replacing her with a pickup but with the current prices of those it was more economical to rebuild the engine on the Patrol.
