do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
First tank of the year , forgot what a lot there is to organise 🤨
I know its been talked about on other threads but must find a way to knock up some dry mix that doesnt involve another trip with truck, 3t st dumper is wrong shape completely to get it mixed without thoroughly abusing bucket and dumper skip .....perhaps a mixer bucket 🤷‍♂️
small skip? or old 600 gal steel diesel tank cut in half for two units (used to use them for scrap skips in my yard) and always had a decent supply of 'em - " can you get rid of this old diesel tank for me please? ";):giggle:

Just shy of 2 weeks into the driveway on our nightmare job that is now at 3 1/2 years. Its slow going but will look the muts nuts when done. Its working out about 4fans per day per man laying thats with a man on cuts and being fed blocks.

Delivery to yard was late so had a minute on this little plate, starts but then spews oil out of the exhaust pipe and gets grumpy, sack it off to the engine graveyard and put a replacement engine on is probably best, no spapped valve springs 🤷‍♂️View attachment 81688View attachment 81689

Cheers. I'm a while off yet got to resubmit planning to get exemption on a 14k Biodiversity charge! Just getting my ducks 🦆 in a row.
I’ve just had to do this, not to get an exemption but the opposite 🤦‍♂️ you can do a S73 - variation of condition , will basically re decide your planning but only the the specific aspect - ie they can’t fail it on anything else!

Yeah it's one of the reasons I stick to a straight tip. when doing my own bits of concrete I have found no simpler or quicker way than simply mixing it up in the 3t terex.

Which suppliers do you get to quote and layout?
I'd be interested in giving it a go but not sure on my plumbing skills for the connections. Might be worth a few hundred quid for a plumber for a day on a one off. Especially if they have the gear.
The manifold connections are really easy - they use a specific type of compression fitting that go together well. As the pipes are connected before you pour the screed you have quite a bit of wiggle-room within the floor loops, so it isn’t critical that your terminations are the exact length.

Yeh I was gonna attempt non material ammendment but decided to go full new app route. I want to move the position of dwelling slightly, retain existing double garage and go full 2 storey rather than 1.5. Planners seemed agreeable but were of opinion new app was needed so just gonna play ball.

Hmm tempting. I will have to make a decision when the time comes. Do you need inserts or is the pipe quite rigid? Do you use a special pipe cutter? What about the dreaded ptfe? At least you'd know if there was a leak with the pressure guages.

I'm thinking of going pipes clipped to bottom of insulation in 100/125 mm structural self compacting slab with no screed. Will be a very long reaction time but should be ok for new build. Idea will be to keep system on low and slow.

Mate ,made a mixing tub 4ft 6 wide and just over a semi circle ,so as you turned it over it fell back in,just over 6 ft diameter ,will get pics ,
We did a refurbs on his house ,done a very long lane ,crap acess
Mixed concrete ,mortar for retainer ,floor screed ,
Interesting look forward to pics 👍

I thought a piece of rsj welded onto a headstock might make a spinning stirrer under tilty but also it might be rough on the tilty🤷‍♂️

No ptfe it’s all o rings, standard pipe cutter and you just use a little reamer tool to open up the pipe. Literally easiest plumbing you can do 👍🏼
Just make sure you drain down the system after you have poured if your going in slab - seem them explode everywhere in a hard frost with them going in pre-weathertight!

It’s all in the design and commissioning really, and how you then set it up to suit then heat source.

The actual UFH is pretty hard to get wrong, it’s just a big radiator :)

Mines still not right I reckon.
Chatting to a lad who knows about such things said there's some new clever smart actuators about now he really rated need to look into them

I want single, or minimal, zones. Keep it simple stupid principle. Realistically not going to get massive temp difference in rooms in modest well insulated new build
Minimum control is usually best, especially with ASHP. Depends on your individual circumstances.
