Its wasnt a criticism and yep Doob seems to makes it all pan out nicely - but all my work was 2.7t for years, then we got a 6/8t and after a few years the majority of the work was with them, work tends to comes in to suit what you run was my point, thats all.
I kind of agree, and tbh I was expecting more work to come along for the backhoe.
Anyhow, that being the case, I’ll stick with the gear that makes the same day rate but burns a third of the diesel!

if I want to make more money then I need staff, it’s that simple. I’ve no interest in large, heavy kit that needs expensive transport. I’ve got more machines than you can shake a stick at, no point adding larger ones with extra transport requirements and a thirst for expensive diesel.
To be fair I’m not really looking to do larger scale stuff. And I often find that a smaller machine used smartly is just as effective as a larger one- especially with things like cut and collect or small scale forestry type jobs.
