Same the world over unfortunately, seems its maybe a familiarity thing and nobody seems to have much tolerance, the last mayor said to me he got tired spending his time trying to resolve neighbors disputes over what amounts to next to nothing.
Flees on a dogs back arguing about who owns the dog mostly, pretty boring stuff.

Finally got the e27 dragged back to the yard and cleaned all the s**t off. Into the workshop for the 1800 hour service. Track motors aligned to drain and all rams retracted for maximum oil in the hydraulic tank to drain.

She works hard this machine, I do give it hell.

Have you sat in the 5t bobcat @doobin ? we run them, I prefer them to the Kubota and JCB equivalents, nicer cab for a start.

I'm sure they're nice, but all my gear needs to be towable. I never seem to need a large digger- barely used my backhoe so far

It would, but tbh why bother.

Doob does do a good job earning with his portable kit. I can see the logic he uses and it works. Very similar to why we run the 3x 1.5's and 2x 7 tonners...... Tbh I could cut out the 7's easier than the 1.5's but the 7's are good tools and work well, particularly for job generation.

Its wasnt a criticism and yep Doob seems to makes it all pan out nicely - but all my work was 2.7t for years, then we got a 6/8t and after a few years the majority of the work was with them, work tends to comes in to suit what you run was my point, thats all.

I kind of agree, and tbh I was expecting more work to come along for the backhoe.

Anyhow, that being the case, I’ll stick with the gear that makes the same day rate but burns a third of the diesel! if I want to make more money then I need staff, it’s that simple. I’ve no interest in large, heavy kit that needs expensive transport. I’ve got more machines than you can shake a stick at, no point adding larger ones with extra transport requirements and a thirst for expensive diesel.

To be fair I’m not really looking to do larger scale stuff. And I often find that a smaller machine used smartly is just as effective as a larger one- especially with things like cut and collect or small scale forestry type jobs.

Makes sense, personally I prefer something a little bit bigger but not big, nicer place to be and not getting bounced around, seemed to spend a lot of time on jobs feeling undergunned.
Not saying its the case for everyone and you seem to have your niche well sorted but personally I think it got me out of competing with every numpty with a mini working for nowt.

Testing some light / beacon ideas out for micro but 1 magnet mount isnt sufficient, 100 hours on it and it’s doing great. Teams up well with the 1 ton swivel dumper.

My trucks have so far proved cheaper to run than several pickups and a defender but joking aside the 19t truck makes more money so more than pays for itself, little muckshifts,aggregates in, shifting plant etc.

I’ve tried filing cabinets for storage but they always annoy me . Tidy looking room though . What’s the plastic strips for?

Trouble is the UK situation for trucks does not favour them.... I'm currently wondering WTF I stay legal and proper....... DVSA, Plod and HMRC seem to have no concerns about tractors running around bent

I actually haven't found that to be the case with my case. Bloody handy for the right job but tbh I'd sooner just beast one of my 3 tonners most of the time. It really has to be the right job to justify burning an extra 40l a day and all the associated transport costs. Plus in and out of the machine all day is a hell of a lot easier on a 3 tonner

She’s watching gold rush with me currently haha she loves getting her wellies on and getting in the mud. Might be my successor as 15 old lad thinks he’s going to be a pro skater
