I do still have it @6feetdown ,have to confess @Furniss post did make me wonder about it, having something to pick stuff up at any time is so handy but i have a selector grab i use now, so i could be persuaded to part with it, 3.5K new ? 36KG.View attachment 49616

As much as it’s nonsense I’d be wary posting that..
My dad did something similar - tractor in gear jumped off onto the potato harvester , did it for years until oneday HSE drove past and saw what he was up too, threw the book at him, dragged through courts and ended up selling up all the potato side of the business as a result!

Is that a forestry winch on front couldn’t you have used other tractor as dead weight and used winch to Assist ?

That was always available as backup (more fannying around though).
The little Same is under 5 tonnes with the mower on and the ground here is pretty greasy so I’d have had to get it well ‘dug-in’ to use as an anchor - I suspect the winch would have just dragged it to me.

Well we are balloting for strike action as we have been told we can't carry out site inspections from home...some of us have Kale sandwiches to make I'll have you know and the crickets on.

There are a few specialist military ranges they can shoot 50 cal in and test ranges in UK, but they are not generally open to the public. The granulated rubber as used in the video is very effective at absorbing the energy. 500mm of rubber will stop it, so most people install 1000mm to have a safety margin. The problems arise through lack of maintenance reducing the depth or people missing the bullet catcher all together. I have unfortunately seen plenty of problems that have only come to light when neighbours have complained about finding bullets.

When I was in UN service I shot with barrette M82 at up to 2000 M
When I came home to Norway, I was put in charge of instructing new shooters. When it came to the day we were to shoot, the range at the military camp was closed due to maintenance, so we traveled to a civilian shooting range that the military had an agreement with. There were about 30 shooters training for the moose hunting test. When they shot, it sounded like a machine gun that was a bit out of tune, it made a bit of noise.
when we had rigged up and fired the first shot it went quiet,
seconds after shot 2 there were 30 men standing round and watching us and wondering what the hell we were shooting with,
the M82 50 cal makes some noise so to speak

Had the same at the shooting range when I fired the 50cal and also this
