Well yesterdays outing worked out a 5.1mpg.

Obviously many factors but that was a typical run I'd of done when I'd had mine but with it been a hired machine and me paying for derv it was monitored.

I literally got there, turned round and drove straight back. Site was ment to be totally clear but no 3 machines in they and about 200t of spoil

What machine was it out of interest?
I found the Cat D & E series horrendous on fuel, compared to my sitemaster & contractor spec machines . Sitemaster being the most fuel efficient.

Yes, the E seemed worse than the C and D for us.
Obviously tramping used to eat derv and same with breaker but generally on site they weren't bad.

But it was never really monitored what they were using. Hence me having a little work out with the hired one yesterday.

How would a respirator have helped if it sucks all the oxygen out?

tanked respirators for escape purposes. Summat like 10 min.s air supply .... the halon displaces the O2

Think me n this little gripper are going to be mates, practicing before first job with it monday, overgrown bit of yard, shift the shite,scrape brambles and buggerment away - level a bit of stone and put everything back, hardly moved machine and only got out of cab to wacker it even got wacker out of shed with it.

I think it's down to it been cheap Chinese. It was fitted few months ago. It didn't feel right when i put it in, had to remove it to eliminate it been at fault again as the same fault came back.
I should of just bought a genuine one, it was only £18 more.

I cleared this site last year, it’s attached to a wire factory and has been tipped on for years. I hoped never to return but my customer hasn’t touched it since and they want to start earthworks in August so I’m ‘mowing’ it to allow them to see what they are doing.
Knowing what is hidden here was the reason for not fitting new tyres or mulcher hammers.
This site is relatively typical of what I do - it’s the main reason I keep running the old Deutz as it has had pretty much everything torn and smashed off… I couldn’t bring myself to take a tidy new tractor onto these sorts of jobs.

What is it?? When verge mowing and hedge cutting I found a felling bar to be incredibly useful, stick the hook into the tangled mess and could start to pull it loose, that looks a bit thick but it was perfect for BT cables stock fencing and barb wire

Solid 1/2 inch round bar - approx 40 feet of it! It was FT on the right hand side of the drum, no way of getting anything under it sadly.

I do still have it @6feetdown ,have to confess @Furniss post did make me wonder about it, having something to pick stuff up at any time is so handy but i have a selector grab i use now, so i could be persuaded to part with it, 3.5K new ? 36KG.
