Dig trench by eye on slightly deeper side gravel then lift pipe in gravel to grade if not steep enough then unfortunately it’s shovel if can’t get back in.

have used laser before etc but then ppl get too concerned over mm etc this just works well and fast. Don’t use my pipe laser anymore unless on big run of big pipe

For short runs like that it gets the job done

Done the block on the level before as well but seen lads have it wrong way Rd lol

Done duel grade etc but takes time etc if going rd building got to move laser etc this just works was only 50 quid can be left on site or in digger thrown in trench does top water as well just by moving it.

I’ll take Pepsi challenge with anyone 2 runs of pipe foul and top into an ic etc be 3x quicker with pipe level vs laser only comparable would be 2 levels with different blocks

Rather than moving the laser another way is to just get the labourer to move the receiver 20mm every time they take a stride forwards. This quite quick and gives relatively tidy trenches with no going back to dig extra out.
If you have a digital receiver you can even just do it off the readout. The Leica ones have a 120mm receiver so you only have to adjust it every 6m length of pipe.

Do you have 2 x Cradle and wires for your 2 machines ?

I swap Idig between 3t and 8t machines, only takes minutes when you have cradles set up in both machines and you can keep all the cables permanently in place nice and tidy, well worth the extra investment

I have gone the intermediate way, plates on all three machines, but need to swap screen and cradle. Takes less than ten minutes, but I don’t worry how tidy the cables are as long as they are out of the way.

I spent a small fortune on RAM Mount bits in the Volvo trying to keep the cradle steady and mount the Rototilt screen at the same time, surprisingly difficult in a small cab when you need clearance for the window, levers etc and still be in a convenient position .

I have put 2 x dedicated ram mounts instead of those terrible suction cups so at least it doesn't fall on the floor.
Obviously sensor plates on 2 machines but still mess about swopping cradles and cables which honestly I hate.
The reason I haven't invested in another set of cables and cradle apart from the 700€ quoted (ages ago) is that I intend hard wiring it as factory tidy as possible into the 6t and leaving it in.
It's sold as easily swopped buy I bet the vast majority of people end up with 2 x sets of cables/cradles because it's a pita even if its 5 minutes.

Hope i never find out how expensive mounting screws were a tight fit in the frame but was only way to get a rigid mount.

I meant more like if you go rd a corner lose line of sight to laser and no where to set it up on corner to do both etc or all the way rd a house plus in bright sun on big jobs 100m etc loose accuracy and receiver can’t locate laser

exactly what I do on a metre level 8mm = 1:80 ... etc.

On a metre level a 1:80 fall would need a 12.5mm block would it not?

1200 level is 15mm for 1:80
