Bit of white an shite will see you right... Black grease on the white white paint and frequent fire loading mean that you don't see the rust so much on mine, which is good.

The micro isn't too bad, the E19 (newest) is the worst. Slight chip and a month later it's let a big patch go. Yet my old Carraro tractor has some shiny patches in the paintwork where there's frequent abrasion but no rust. Same with the Benford dumper. Both twenty years old.

After looking at quite a few used examples I dont think wacker neuson is anything like as good as Kubota in the paint department.

Kubota used to be famed for having a decent paint job not sure if the new stuff is as good. Older Takeuchi used to be dreadful too but the TB216 Is much better in that department at least.

2018 u17 I have is o.k - bit of rust around badge ...biggest issue seems to be very thin paint..rubs through to the white undercoat very easy ...but it has undercoat

Got to say, the latest paint on jcb kit is very good, but the biggest single problem is the laser cut panels which leave a very sharp edge, thus no paint sticks to them and they rust though very quickly!
Needs someone on the production line with a grinder & flappy disc over the corners, would last much better then!

You haven’t bought any new jcb kit and if I recall, you’ve had your 57c painted under warranty?
For the record, JCB paint, especially black on the cabs, is still poor. But not as bad as Bobcats

Changing the subject. I have a little 2.5 Jungheinrich counterbalance that I bought locally for low money back in Xmas 2017 when I decided I needed one. My first ever FLT. I’m think by the time I bought it/serviced/Loler it cost me 3.5k+ 1999 with a 3.0l lpg engine and container spec mast. It’s been a lovely useful machine and it been not too problematic considering the age/hours. I think it had about 7500 hours when I bought it. The display has died but I doubt it’s topped 8000 yet.
Todays job was the local FLT dealer doing some remedials. New exhaust system, rocker cover gasket and a new set of hinges on the engine / seat cover. Plus various other bits. Best part of £1500 but hopefully worth it. Looks like 5-8K for that sort of truck now. Hopefully it’s good for another 24 years….

Yes the black is still pathetic, zero prep, zero primer.. zero care! They seem to have wondered away from the thick powder coating of old, but the paint process do vary between factories, I’ve had machines with parts painted completely differently depending where it’s origin was.

Oh and yes it was painted under warranty - like i said the paint it’s self is great but the sharp corners are what lets it down. It was almost see through on the corners from new!

Had an issue with an ec18 Volvo with paint bubbling on steelwork at 3 years old.I’m a real stickler for seeing after my stuff and all machines never get a night out and washed before every new job.anyway I complained to dealer and took the panel in and it was the ver sharp edge that had caused the issue.it was a complete side panel with the steel on the bottom of plastic panel and Volvo replaced the whole bit free of charge.they now round the edges before paint.another reason I’ve stuck with them.agree with the jcb black paint.my telehandler is dreadful on the black bits and paint starting to come of wheels too.

Awesome, went for a walk this week on our field and think I'm not far off been able to run on them again. Got an oak to drop for firewood.

Sometimes I’d love one, sometimes I’d hate it. Milwaukee heated jacket sorts the heating. Most of the time I prefer being able to properly see what’s going on.

Rain is the only pain but realistically all my mowing work you need a dry day for. It’s also a great tractor for gardens etc, and a cab would just get in the way there. I’m on the lookout for a larger tractor with cab but dead set on hydrostatic which means it’s wait and see.

And utterly unbearable without Aircon. Probably available now but several old kubotas I've driven didn't have it and it was torture in such a small cab
