Another job for the trust, new site for us at wentworth castle. Doing a car park refurb got told I was slightly more than other tenders but they liked meeting me and my approach to the job gave them the most confidence it’d get done on well and on time. Nice that they tender on quality not just price. First job pull up 150 half rd rails pegged into the ground, 1.6 ton and grab got tied up in a back garden and couldn’t get it out so micro came out to play. If I’d known I’d have had a clay spade made split like a claw hammer in end managed to pry them up with little 2 toothed bucket after perfecting a technique.

My dad was on hire with the 432 putting that car park in years ago, in fact it could of been the old 428 at that time.

You are really luck if they give a s**t about quality over price.

Someone more recently has put a very sandy surface on it, it’s all pooling in the low spots leaving 6” deep soft wet sandy bits
I remember going with him to pick the machine up from there. He had to level out some topsoil either side of the drive before he went. He grabbed a big log in 4in1 with it stuck out 6 or 7ft one side and ran down each side...job done and back in the yard nice and early.

knocked down old outbuilding on site today, was on my own so rather than mess around jumping between machine and dumper I took some more paint off my dump trailer, only 300yard tip run one end to the other but saved so much time and easily took 50ton to the crusher pile, would of been a knackering day on the 3ton dumper! (All off road before anyone starts crying )

Got some bits on hire was hoping for something new to play in but got this 2014 8 tonner Kubota, don’t really hire stuff but was easier than moving our kit for week long job. Started stripping today and altering fences
