Did sound good, surprisingly quiet though, heard an approaching piston engined aircraft and jumped up to see what it was and was startled to see four engines and the distinctive tail. It was heading Bristol/Bath direction and I'd imagine that on the approach to it's target it would have been just as discrete 🤫🤭
The noise definitely increases once they are overhead - not a great deal of shouting on approach!

I go every time I can to see them at howden and Derwent and ladybower been lucky to see them there 5 times now doing the run

fantastic Giles ... I am green - 5 times you lucky lad ....... NOTHING else sounds like those Merlins :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

No I think the year they were both meant to do the run there was bad weather or something and instead was 1 617 squadron typhoon flew it instead

No all in upper Derwent valley

We’re we are currently we get aircraft almost every week, and they are generally below us.

Been there since April had loads of typhoons sometimes 4 of them, chinook regular, apache, c130s type or Hercules funny looking out digger down onto a banking Hercules

Had some navy merlins and the red arrow trainer ones. Great when they come flying past

Ah awesome. Was at wastwater the other week...and 4 F15s buzzed us v low. Quality...blew the cobwebs away 😍 fancy and day at lakenheath sometime.
