You forget ...it's a competition...to see how much we can spend on the job. Makes cool tweets and insta postsnot the sort of thing you'd expect to see on a bridge only 20-ish feet above the ground .... those deck launchers're designed for high level bridge building .... wonder WTF spec.ed that for the job ???

True. My sister lives very near to the route it takes through Warwickshire. In my mind reckless collosal waste of time, money resources and countryside. If the last few years have proved something a large proportion needn't be travelling anywhere near as much as they think for work and all for another 20 mins quicker or whatever. If you want a lesson in pissing money up a wall just drive past an hs2 site. It is honestly mind blowing how much hard work they make everything. I drove down the road from merthyr Tydfil towards Swansea today with all the construction work going on and was utterly amazed at how different the approach to the job is by comparison to the hs2 sites I have been driving past for the last month
It was sold wrong it's to free up freight slots as if a passenger train is catching up a freight train the freight has to pull over into a siding as passenger trains are faster than freight and have right of wayTrue. That's my understanding...tbf west coast route is apparently at capacity..It was sold wrong it's to free up freight slots as if a passenger train is catching up a freight train the freight has to pull over into a siding as passenger trains are faster than freight and have right of way
Plus more freight on rails takes it off the roads so greener in long run as less lorry's and seeing as shortage of drivers for lorry's one train does multiple lorry loads at a time

well they need to re-evaluate priorities then .... probably 90% of the bodies, don't need to be going anywhere. It was sold wrong it's to free up freight slots as if a passenger train is catching up a freight train the freight has to pull over into a siding as passenger trains are faster than freight and have right of way

Designed like that so top operators can use their knees

Same on the K008. First excavator I’ve operated with a decelerator pedal.Once again we thank the kubby design team who put the revs lever there...10 mins in and I'm already pissed off.
