Turns out Western Power gave us the wrong size hockey stick so may have to core through the toe now for a bigger duct

63 mm ducting and hockey stick to match now for 3 phase oh and larger box to be built in to wall

Cleaning out a pond whilst it’s dry. Bit much of a run and on tarmac, so rather than use the tracked dumper I’m using the loader to bring it to the side and then rehandling into the 3t wheeled dumper.

Any need for it? Just a bigger bill for the end user otherwise.. we’ve built some pretty big houses and none needed over 100a.. even my industrial unit is only 1ph

Just double checked today with SP energy who are doing a new connection for us at the moment, all they are supplying is 32mm..

Wpd are upgrading most of the network in advance which is good forward thinking for a big firm
Last 4 new builds I've been involved for customers have all got 3ph
Even the annex our lorry driver has built for his son I had to do the trenching and ducting for 3ph
Not done a single phase duct for some time there is a new build I'm involved with will still be single phase as no 3ph on poles and doubt he will pay for larger transformer just for himself

Lads who did the road crossings said the network around here can’t take any more load, and it’s basically a mess! So I guess they probably have the thought that if everything is small duct people won’t bother with 3ph upgrade

As yet still only 32mm duct for service cables into houses and when i questioned the last leccy board fella about the possiblity of several leccy cars charging at each house he didn't seem bothered. I wonder if some leccy companies are thinking they'll be paid to upgrade by govt so why waste their own money doing it in advance.

Hot and dusty last few weeks ....old 8t clocked 6000hrs - tools all that hot you cant hold them and dumper seat was unsittable on buggered off to coast last minute decision 5pm sat night - put tent up and went for tea then a swim in morning before home .... very lucky to live so close to unspoilt coastline.

after doing a few recently and got to khow the wpd man ,his opinion is 100m black leccy duct ,cover all eventuallitys

They’re not lovely when your trying to pull a nice neat 12” trench and you end up with a bomb crater as you’ve had to pull 4 out lol and swapped from 5 ton to 16 ton in frustration

How many hours has your 71-3 done?

4300 ish - bought it off a mate about 2 years ago at 3300hrs - had quite a few things to sort on it at first but it's settled down and its very decent, stable - smooth only real gripe is its a bit noisy in hydraulics.
Plan to have a reshuffle when values drop but in reality it all would go on for fair bit longer I suppose as it's very light work and 8t has averaged 415hrs yearly in 6years - 3t 330hrs yearly in 2 - 1.7t kub 50hrs yearly in 2.
