Should be clean water out of a treatment plant though no bacteria neededsame. illegal i thought. was told the bacteria that make leechate fields work don't exist past 1m into the ground.

No room for the size of area required to have a effective drainage field then times that by 2 as 2 lots of houses 2 tanks 2 soakaways for tanks then another 2 soakaways for rain water and all of them not over 6m from buildings and no mains sewer so got no choice on how it's donesame. illegal i thought. was told the bacteria that make leechate fields work don't exist past 1m into the ground.
It's in Cornwall though .....same. illegal i thought. was told the bacteria that make leechate fields work don't exist past 1m into the ground.
i understood it was down to percolation test if suitable size drainage field could not be achieved then a cesspool had to be used with regular emptying . also if mains drainage is within 60m of property boundary thats what had to be used. that was in dorset but may vary amongst councils and water providers. ours are wessex water, they are questioning some developments thinking the water quality will suffer with massive developments planned in some areas. No room for the size of area required to have a effective drainage field then times that by 2 as 2 lots of houses 2 tanks 2 soakaways for tanks then another 2 soakaways for rain water and all of them not over 6m from buildings and no mains sewer so got no choice on how it's done
still got open drains down there, ain't theyIt's in Cornwall though .....

The treatment tank with the green lid 10ft away.hows that work then ?
raw sewage into chamber that leeches into the ground. Wheres the bit where it gets 'cleaned' prior to that ?
gotcha. The treatment tank with the green lid 10ft away.
Are you're eyes painted on![]()
Should be clean water that you can drink (I'll allow you) in any case if surface water drainage is into same rings any tiny impurities would be well diluted.gotcha.
shouldnt be any sludge to clean out if its been treated ?
s**t in a bucket and chuck it out the window I thinkstill got open drains down there, ain't they![]()
Interesting, there's a bit of an outcry about crap in Windermere ATM so I guess this is linked?Should be clean water that you can drink (I'll allow you) in any case if surface water drainage is into same rings any tiny impurities would be well diluted.
Interestingly we have a new thing round me governing non mains sewage in the Bassenthwaite lake catchment area. If any ground water is present below 2m deep you can't discharge outfall even from treatment plants now apparently, so no house allowed. It'll rule out an awful lot of potential new builds round here straight away.
We aren't allowed more than 20cm of soil on soakaway trenches or drainage beds because of this.same. illegal i thought. was told the bacteria that make leechate fields work don't exist past 1m into the ground.
Yeah most places round here fill with water at 2 meters down. Imagine the lakes would be very similar!Should be clean water that you can drink (I'll allow you) in any case if surface water drainage is into same rings any tiny impurities would be well diluted.

Not sure about their claims ....they have been doing them here for a lot longer than we have been here... we've done a few over the years but less and less thankfully .....they are a proper pita to do.You can do an above ground soak away mound, pumped up into mound then soaks away.
