Tackled a list of jobs on the tractor today, full service, FWD drop box seal, Engine mount(found out someone had bodged it before with a spring!!) which had disappeared due to a diesel leak above it, so replaced that section of pipework.The engine had dropped that much the fan had taken out some of the housing.
I don’t see doing stuff like this as a job, i enjoy doing my own maintenance, oddly it’s probably one of the most rewarding things i do! Easy way to blow £800

Hopefully you held the driveshaft back into the drop box when you removed the front plate as there is a washer that drops down if the shaft is allowed to slip forwards.

What’s the laser receiver size on the machine?

Standard is 150mm catchment area, or you can get a 300mm option.
If you want the grade to blade option (sensor on the blade) then you need the larger laser catcher.

So while I was under the tractor Servicing it I thought I’d dislodge some of the built up crap and cow feed(tractor had spent its previous life on the feed wagon) that had blown inbeteen the chassis rails and engine… came to it the next day and there was a puddle of diesel under it, turns out said mud/feed had been keeping the diesel pipes intact!!

So set too replacing them today, what a job!! Why some clever cloggs didn’t think to drop the rubber pipes down another 10cm so you could get at them is beyond me!! Did afew others while I was covered in diesel anyway!

Day off today, still end up at the yard using tools though...
Last ever pay and play day at Devils Pit befell it closes, place was absolutely rammed. Car Park was challenging enough for a lot of people, including me in the crafter- had to get towed backwards while someone held my front on a winch line to stop me sliding into the front of an ex army lorry

They aren't the shims you need to worry about. The washer that falls off is at the back of the shaft in behind the clutch drum. I'll get a parts diagram if you give me a model number. I'm assuming a 4 cylinder R series?

Thrust washers 24/25 think there is only one from memory so not sure why it shows two. But they drop down if the shaft moves forward far enough. It then allows the drum to move forwards and backwards inside the drop box. Maybe youve been really lucky but if the shaft was removed from back bearing it's highly likely the thrust washers have dropped...​

Yep same parts diagram I had, nah it didn’t move anywhere near enough for that to come out, literally ever so slightly sagged once the front plate came off, only enough to dislodge the paper thin shims and o-ring. Shes a peachy 6125R

Yeah its been o.k - another similar parking/tidy up job to do next and then we have a tank and drainage bed to do....fingers crossed.

A job I did 6 weeks ago but only took photo today. As is typical I had traffic lights booked for the week, they don't turn up until 2pm on the Monday and it literally chucked it down the whole rest of the week.
Large tree went over last summer and pulled up the whole wall, so quite a bit of attacking the root plate in order to fit the wall back in again

Also rejuvenated this tired layby for local parish council. Would have been a day's work- tell the quarry I need the stone by mid day. It doesn't turn up untill 4pm and then its only half the load- I don't often loose the plot down the phone but this was an exception

Glendennings are a f****ng waste of time of you want organisation.

I just use NR for everything now

Yep. "We've been busy with tarmac" well why didn't you tell me that a week ago when I ordered the stone you bloody idiots!
The trouble here was I normally use a slate quarry out Tavy way where I organised the haulage myself and thus reliably- but parish council seemed to have some affiliation with Glendinning.

I see them around. They must get it from Glendinnings though? Tbh I don't really like limestone that much, find slate packs in tighter and less likely to displace over time. Colour is more inkeeping with moorland grey too
