Yup. They come up secondhand occasionally, usually 8-9k

Over five years finance mine costs me £260 a month with a few attachments, it easily washes its face each month.

I need to look at doing something like this . It really gets jerked about in the hitachi . My glass doesn’t open that side so the Perspex thing might be an option . What’s the second screen mount ? How are those ram mounts for the screens attached ?

The second RAM mount makes it much easier to get the cradle steady.

It was fine until the rain we had you can see it was ok in the first photo with the tilty and grade board. Luckily a wagon of stone hides a multitude of shite, got it all laid out, graded and rolled as much as I dared. Really nice to be able to sit the digger anywhere to do that- major benefit in those conditions. I laid all that out on my own whilst ordering some more materials and helping harry do the fencing. Even got the obligatory 'use a tilty for EVERYTHING no matter how small' Instagram shot

I’ll finish the fencing but the rest of the job will have to wait until it’s drier.

I’m seeing you’ve got the main screen to your side . Is it not the case that you need to be looking at it when you’re digging ? Or do you just use the we glass thing ?

Plenty of room in the machine up there and works for me, once its set its a combination of sound and lights for finding grade, but for others who maybe get more out of it then i dunno

something I've wanted to build for mine, but never had a chance to have a good enough look at one, 'in the metal', to see quite how they're designed/assembled .. have pick up points already built into the underside of mine, holding the Hill hitch and 'll double up for a gripper ...... one day

Turns out that the s40 shares same dipper width and centers as the old 8t kubota, its only the 8t 60mm pins that differ.
Which makes me think there may be an easy way to convert the shear ....whats your thoughts ?

I'd cut the pins off internally. Mark the centres of them on the outside, then drill through with a 50mm mag drill. Insert 40mm pins, check and weld. Easy enough.
