Clearing out for new water treatment.
Some walls to get out of the way and then a bit of an scrape out. Would of needed 8t to hoss the walls out and 3t or 1.7t to get in and scrape out, 6t did the lot, carried walls out in 2 lumps
Saved a few hours today....nice start.

Getting some drains and other stuff in. 2 x 2 bulks bags from merchant £110 for 2 bags then markos finally turned up with 4 bags but had to meet him at heathy lay by. Didbt really feel that bad with 4 bags on lol

Decided it was easier to load barrow and fill dumper than up ramps with all mud etc

Depending who filled the bulk bags there is the full possibility that it's completely legal.

Going to lift levels as new extension will be up in air, but mrs kicking off about big whillow and affecting it, but saves me having to get rid of 50 tons of stuff and then not have a 600mm step from new patio to lawn if we lift the levels a bit

Today I had a hose burst, it runs under exhaust silencer and the silencer is covered in some heatsheild padding type stuff....so you can guess where I'm going with this....

I hear a pppsssssshhhhhhh, few seconds later loads of smoke in cab and coming out from engine bay.

Yep that hose bust squirting straight upwards onto said exhaust.

New pipe fitted and a smokey afternoon in the cab as all oil is burnt off the saturated padding round the exhaust.

I've had the issue before so Luckily it wasn't too much as shock to the system.

Hydraulic man I use was on it straight away. I'd stripped cab floor, seat and rear overs out ready had a coffee and he was there in 40mins. New pipe wrestled into place and tested. And back off to work we went.

no alternative route to feed it through Alex? .... how about wrapping the hose in heat shielding tape on top of some spiral hose wrap?

There no alternative in this instance. There is a fair few pipes run in that location which include the pipes from pump to the hydraulic valve block.

It's not a great design, the pipe in question was a little one that tee'd off one of the main pump feeds. It's straight off the t with a 90deg and it had been rubbing up against the edge of the guard for the derv tank.

Matt twisted the t down and abit of faffing about managed to get it to clear everything. There is 2 of these side by side so made it little more awkward to achieve.

I would of taken pictures but concrete was coming so was just focused on getting digger back running.

There’s some wet stinky undercroft about 3 feet high fills up currently with 2 feet of water

And slab is about 8” on suspended and another on base might bring the 8 ton for that lol

I don't like them. Just to big and bulky.

Are the belle barrows worth the money?

100% I would never buy a Builder’s Merchant wheelbarrow again. Tried the Vaunt barrow, decent but not as good. My Auld Man nearly had a fit when he saw the invoice of nearly £1k for five of them but the merchant’s barrows at £40 odd don’t last 2 months in my lads hands, the Belle’s still going strong after 2 years.

The big plastic Hamelin ones have the wheel set further back so are far easier to lift. Great on flat ground, not so good on slopes as you overload it naturally.
Not tried a belle one. Seen some used for tarmac but not sure I would trust them.

Local merchants selling crytec 1s i think they are similar price look strong and tyre similar to the belle

Are the belle barrows worth the money?

Absolutely got 5 of them only barrow worth having take so much more than the crappy heamolins etc that last 6 months of that.

They are big though so better suited to big lads if you fill them take some pushing up hill full of concrete

I’ve a vaunt belle copy as well it’s ok but no warrior. My mate runs 10 volumetrics with 2 belles on each one only barrow they use all day with concrete.

I like mine, yeah they are big but you obviously get plenty in them
