Still the norm to have a "plat de jour" its a special cheap menu put on for workers, we do it every so often and the the better ones are usually popular with a good atmosphere,have to admit that it's nearly always a sandwich for us, today was dry mixing round some tanks etc and it's doesn't always work to sack off for 1.5 hours ! But good on them.

My uncle married a french woman who's family owned a routiere ?? Spelling might be a bit off. It was Michelin starred but still pack with tradies during lunch break. Amazing food and atmosphere.

When I was a teenager we used to sail to france and eat in le routiere at the harbour. Sea food plater so huge you couldn’t finish it and so cheap a school boy could afford it. Those were the days.
lorry drivers would come in and eat whilst consuming a bottle of red wine then head back to their truck to carry on for the afternoon shift.

One place I was taken as a kid had barrels of wine in the dining room and was served in the same anodised aluminium jugs that we had at school for lunch times. A new one would hit the table before the last one was finished.
Another one had great big dishes full of course pate. And they just got moved from table to table as new customers arrived. Very hygienic.

I am still happy to drink red wine with any food. I obviously don’t have a very discerning palet.

@Mogman After that photo what happened next…? Does it get dragged into the building or put up on the ledge?

They pull it into the building that is just the fan base, the main unit is three times as tall (only just fits in the door way) then they scoot it where it needs to be then pipe it up

A 5 bed house - 5000l tank followed by 100ml of trenches - soil tests say that what it needs !

I dont do the study - indépendant company does the test and takes liability if its followed to the cm - then checked and signed off by authorities before backfill.

WHY???

Dangerous structure by a footpath, not used anymore and I guess we were to expensive to rebuild it to not use it so it’s being taken down to 1200mm left like that

did they obtain planning permission to demolish it ? you could be on a sticky wicket being the contractor who did the work without express authority from the right 'authority' ?
