My view from my house yesterday morning 07.24. Today nothing at all.
The twitter take about the upcoming sun dimming is supposed funding. Allegedly the funding came from USAID but that’s been shut down under the new Trump administration and we now have to fund our own. Hence the “oh we need funding let’s pretend it’s just starting” vibe.

I looked back at all my old photos recently and the ones with long trails crossing each other and lingering started about late 22. Maybe it’s luck, I’d be interested in anyone else looking at there pics.

I was sat down on west wittering beach one weekend last year and they where there all day. Don't know how many they have operating but there seemed to constantly be one above us.

I would say I don't bother looking up during the Kemble season but I'd be lying....you just can't help yourself 😁
It is entertaining watching the light aircraft with the photographers in who are trying to get good pics of the "paying" rear seat passenger, makes you realise the vast difference in performance 😍

When I was at agricultural college, we were on the flight path from Waddington. The sound and sight of these flying over two abreast was something else. One summer just before I left, we saw one doing a loop, it was the slowest loop I’ve ever seen.

I was lucky enough to see the Vulcan several times during the 70's and in its latter years too but the one plane that has stuck in my memory from when I first got to see it was the English Electric Lightning wow what a plane, I can still see it at Biggin Hill in a steep vertical climb with the afterburners on and the noise was incredible it was basically a rocket with wings on it. I believe that there is still one flying in South Africa alas none here though. I did get to Biggin Hill and see both lancasters in flight with Spitfires about 5 or 6 years ago, They flew Vera over from Canada, I got out of work to see them When they arrived at biggin hill everyone was cheering them it was a totally magnificent and emotional afternoon.

The last two years I have been to the royal international air tattoo at RAF fairford. If you like military planes it is beyond incredible. Three day of fly displays a solid 7-8hrs a day.
As one aircraft touches down another aircraft that has been in a holding pattern thunders into the display zone.
The year before last they had a Spanish harrier and British f35 hovering for a good minute Infront of everyone. The noise is unbelievable and the displays are absolutely mind blowing. Without doubt one of the best things I have ever seen.

I’ve posted this before I’m sure, but managed to see the Vulcan do a flypast at East midlands airport in 2015. It was supposed to visit again for the farewell tour but it never appeared despite everyone being there waiting for it! So sad to watch something so special and know it will never ever fly again 😔

They used to do a fast taxi up the runway at Southend once a year. Not sure if its a thing anymore..
