you mean a disco tub on a 130 hi-cap chassis? gonna have the same issues with weight though sadly

No he stretched a disco chassis to 130. Ally trayback on it. Does some landscaping so can tow his digger and put the buckets on the flatbed.

With regard to the 6x6 it was an old cuthbertson or similar conversion, he has improved it slightly by adding a rear lift to the back axle.

the track arms're set up for a 100" wheel base on the disco axle .. at 130" the angle the arms're set at will be different and need a 130" front axle swivels .... look at the first drawing above .... the steering geometry is completely different after being stretched and will scuff the steering wheels
Akerman linkage, although subtle, has a big effect on steering geometry
same applies to the extra axle .. see drg 3 .. the steering centre point moves back

Ah, that makes sense. So you can lift it like a tag axle?
I know- maybe he could improve it further by removing the axle altogether? As the single rear axle combined with the front will be rated for 3.5t anyhow. Would save fuel, tyre wear and give much better payload

still have a P38, V8 Disco 1 and have had more landies than you could shake a stick at LL
from Ser. 1 upwards, plus a LOT of classic RRs and built a lot from the dirt up. They're still hateful things though should never have sold this one .. owed me 400 quid
but 1500 quid profit was too good to turn down at the time ...... Hindsight eh?!!!

Hardtop with a bulkhead removal bar, small steering wheel and extended seat runners, so much room. Genuinely felt more spacious than anything else I've ever driven, including discos, range rovers and rangers
Did 315 miles Genuinely non stop once in it, before my bladder called time
