Whilst I definitely don’t agree with more red tape I have a feeling that this is being brought in to clamp down on foreign 3.5 tonne van driving hauliers (there are some massive Polish Iveco daily curtainsiders for example, running with no tachos).

They’re always overweight. Book them for that instead.

Or just book them for being foreign.

Either way leave us alone.

This has been coming for a while now. Nought to really worry about. If anything, it's a big plus as it means the Eastern European 3.5t brigade can't sit in the UK doing stupid s**t. I'd personally like to see any UK company doing Haulage (I.e Moving goods not their own) with any commercial vehicle bound by Tacho.... would knock out the myriad of stupid, uninsured 3.5t/trailer "Recovery" firms. And Amazon - Because Amazon is a distribution company, not a shop........
