Ok, what really is it with people you want to buy from, or even have ordered with letting you down and not coming back to you.

Its no wonder people (hopefully) like us, we call back and if somebody buys from us then we drop everything to sort. Keep in contact and the likes.

We are buying a cabin for the new yard, I really want to name drop here. i am speechless as to how we have been left. Should of been two weeks ago, should of been today, should be wednesday. The whole time we are messing about with our plans. Wouldlnt book transport without full payment and all sorts.

Then we have a skip lorry bought for a customer who has no time to sort this type of thing, 3 weeks is into 7 in getting it ready. Every week is another week and it makes us look stupid. How do people do it.

then you have the salesmen who wont call you back

I genuinely am the easiest person in the world to deal with, pay on time and just want a quick easy deal / transaction

Seems the business world has gone mad

I saw a FB add 2 weeks ago for a new Doosan 1 ton digger. Pressed the button and have my details. Had a phone call 3 days later to say that my details have been passed onto my area salesman. Still waiting for the call!! Don’t think I will be getting a Doosan!!

I feel your pain .... same the country wide BTLs .... suppliers are a law unto them selves ..... pay on time and keep them happy to deal with you ... and you still get shafted with late deliveries, non arrivals and s**t products :mad::mad:
so glad I am out of it .... to a major degree (but still have to rely on ppl to perform for some things)

Im surprised how un interested some dealers are in my quest for a micro. I gave up waiting on hold at one place, had to ring a local place 2 or 3 times just for a price and they still haven't got back to me about finance details. Surely a salesman should know their finance inside out?. They must be selling loads of £100,000 diggers and plant because they don't seem to give a s**t about £15,000 ones.

When you call any suppliers in building industry and they take number to call you back it's a waste of time. Would estimate 2 out of 10 returned

Ordered a new headstock from approved hydraulics 5 weeks ago and they have been crap since was told it would be with me a week after the initial order and 4 weeks on we have nothing and I can’t even get a call back ! Surely I’d have a reminder if I left the bill unpaid that long !

I really like to keep in touch with my customers. Whether or not he bought something from me. Of course, Customers who have bought, I will tell him the progress of the order (production, delivery, transportation, etc.) Not praising myself here. I think this is what sales should do! After-sales service is very important.

Funnily enough I’ve had said salesman chasing me today, picked up the phone 4th time around and mentioned how annoying it is not being able to get in touch with someone 🤣

Apparently it’s been ready for over and week and they’ve been calling me but can’t get through to me 🤔

Yes, I have been having this issue aswell! Needed track pads for an 8 tonner but dealer needed 3 quotes from me, I deal with Astrak myself and we do a lot of work together so said they would be the best, we’ll they were the only ones to get back to me, within 10mins of phone going down I had a quote arrive in my emails.

Needed a saddle for a breaker, phoned local co who are doing a lot of advertising just now putting out great looking bits of kit, 8 weeks later still no sign of saddle, I had made my own by this point, seen them trying to call me 3 times in a week, waited till the Friday and called them back. Ohh your saddle has been ready for past 2 weeks, it’s ok I made my own 7 weeks ago... 🤔🤔

The list goes on and on and on.

As I sell hydraulic attachments myself, when I get an enquiry I make sure I get back to said person that day, some times it will be the next day if I need to ask the factory for info.

It’s not easy whatever side you are on, people get used to their usual customers/suppliers nd get accustomed to the level of service you get/give. When you have to deal with someone else the expectation is with a supplier you expect the same or better service from your usual guy because they should be privileged to get your business, and with a customer you think your not my regular so you’ll have to play second fiddle. Somewhere along the line there is a lot of misplaced expectation
