Though a new thread in order. Last day of the heatwave. Catching a breeze on the size of Dartmoor following a 16 century leat. Surprisingly few people out and about until near the city.
We have a lot of these old stone railway bridges in Devon and Cornwall that were upgraded from earlier stone and timber affairs. They usually left the old stone piers standing like this one.

The old airbase is so dry you can see the runways nice and clearly.

Out on the kayak today. Did probably 20km. Like looking at all the warships and subs although understandably your not allowed to close or military police tell you off!

No it’s between Yelverton and Plymbridge somewhere. I didn’t even know there was a tunnel there till yesterday. Have been through Grenofen which I think may be longer. Nice place to be in a Heatwave

Love wandering around Dartmoor on days like that, the mix of history and scenery is hard to beat. Those old stone piers always catch my eye too, feels like they’ve been frozen in time.

Wow.. that was good AI.. the one about trying specific Facebook groups for finding work in Cornwall I would never have guessed.

I think the internet in the future might be an increasingly frightening place.

We had the college lecturer coming in to see us say the apprentices are using AI to complete their portfolio work.
He reckons they are passing people on the courses with top grades nowadays that don't really have a clue about the trade they have tickets for 🫣

Last time I did my 5yearly gas refresher, there was a bloke there at same time just out of the Royal Navy. He’d never soldered a pipe fitting but had just about every domestic and commercial gas, lpg and oil ticket. On paper he knew everything 🫣
