when I lived in Munich had snow types on my golf we had snow in September and was white till march some morning -26 celsius etc proper cold, snow tires were night and day compared to normal tires etc
over here living the hilly peaks (about 460m max height) ive never been stuck in just good all terrain tires, including cutting new tracks in 6-10" powder or on compressed icy roads etc, chains be handy on the compressed icy roads depending but seems like an over reach for the amount of snow we get, especially down your way to have chains in a 4x4?
even in beast from the east when we had 3-4 weeks of snow was still out and about every day in 4x4 with ko2 etc on
